My own first effort was a bit like yours (amd Mike H's). One of our first rounds over 18 holes, February, cold damp, a 'strange' course with not a soul in sight. I was a beginner. Hit a t-shot well right of the green, two impossible bounces off bunkers and there it was, across the green and in the hole. Mr B still hasn't got over it!
Had another one in France some months later. Par three, straight on the green and in the hole. Men in the party were all in the water on the left - tee hee.
It does grieve me that since I have learned how to play the game, I haven't even got close! (And Mr b still hasn't had one - Shame!)

Plenty of near misses, never had one go in. The most memorable on was at my previous club on a 290 par4 down hill, I hit my 3 wood and watched it bounce onto the green, shouted fore as there were still people on the green, they had the flag out and it lipped out. The fellas said that it hit the centre of the hole and might have been a different story had the flag been in. Easy two though :D

Never had one on a full sized course but in 2001 I had 2 on our par 3 course - both on the same hole. Both times it was a 9 iron from about 135 yards. The first one was a peach of a shot that never left the flag, but the second was a horrible pull which took a very kind bounce off a bank on the left and scuttled onto the green and kept going until it fell into the hole. It would be hard to imagine a bigger fluke!

I have had two. Both to greens with slight elevation, so have never seen it go in, but I could tell I had holed out by the reaction of the guys on the next tee. Still a nice feeling. I have kept both balls for the trophy cabinet too.

I've had one. The 3rd on the new 9 at Muckhart, one of the hardest holes on the course. 187 yards, elevated green saddles and run-offs round the green.

Was playing with my Dad, I had just bought a 7 wood for £12. I hit it off the toe, it drew in like a banana, died on the saddle in front of the green, rolled up and into the hole. I glad my Dad was there to witness it mind you.

Obviously when I recount the story, the hitting off the toe description is replaced by me hitting a nice draw!!

The 10th hole at Lanark!
149yard slightly uphill to a raised green, wind coming slightly from the right, 8 iron aimed 15feet right of the hole. Hit it perfectly and it pitched 5 feet beyond and to the right of the pin spinning back into the hole!
I ran about like a five year old for a few minutes; will never forget it!
