Round 2 of club champs last night, got round in a 1 over par 71 for a net 66 and 0.3 off h'cap, happy with score but was absolutely livid with a needless double bogey at 13th but managed to calm down enough to get a 3rd birdie of the round at 15th. Best in a good while for me but more importantly I was hitting the driver and irons really well, like I used to. :)The putter is misbehaving but I made up for some short misses with a couple of decent ones.
Sorry had to share that with someone, the wife just doesn't understand! :p
Have qualifying rounds tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday afternoon so hoping to consolidate on some decent golf for once.

Good man Stu, Glad to hear it's all coming back now after your lay off. I know what you mean about having to tell someone, ANYONE about it.
I've been doing alright myself recently, I've been biting my lip trying not to tell everyone in case I jinx it.
Will you be coming to North Berwick in August? Hope to see you there.

Drat, 0.1 up last night at the wee course, missed buffer by 1 shot after some 14 handicap bandit forced the CSS down one!
Never mind, won the trophy (2 round stableford) and a £15 voucher...I'll try not to spend it all at once!
Playing again this evening, golf overdose is fast catching up with me...Yawn.

Wheels came off big style last night. +3 on 13th tee having played steady over the front 9, doubled bogeyed 13th for the third successive round then had a feeble bogey run over the closing holes to finish on 79, net 74, 10 shots back going into final round.
My only inspiration is that Paul Lawrie started 10 back when he won at Car-nastie I think.
Putting has gone completely, had a great stroke going a week ago but it has disappeared leaving me tickling everything short and right and terrified of the 2-6 footers. :D
Who's got some good tips for a better more confident putting stroke?

putting stroke - I changed my grip, to have both 1st fingers pointing down the sides of the grip - makes me putt totally with the shoulders and no wrists. Helping me a lot
