Hi Steve in Spain

Must admit Andy, you can get some good prices on clothes, but not as cheap as the shorts I buy in Carrefour!

Just got a nice deal on an electric trolley though John, the Golf factory man, sold me his old one for 50€, new battery 70€...perfick!

But yes, equipment is very expensive out here...so is the bloody golf if truth be told! We are lucky as the match sec of SMGS is the pro at Campoamor and he knows everyone and we get special deals, plus the winners of the 3 groups (Gold, Silver and Bronze) on the day get a free game voucher for that course, which last for 12 months. The next time I play La Finca, last Wdnesday of the month, free round, same as for VillaMartin, got free game vouchers for those courses. saves me around 76€!!

Playing in shorts every time is worth a few extra euro's in my book lol

I might have to tap you up for a game soon. My father in law has 2 Villas at Villa Martin and plays golf out there a few times a year as well. I havn't played any of the courses there yet having only got into golf this year. He prefers Las Ramblas over Villa Martin. There was talk about Villa Martin golf course getting built on but could just be a rumour?. Oh and welcome to the forum btw!!

If any course needs building on it's Las Ramblas! That is a bitch of a course to play, but fun in a perverse way! Not heard that rumour and seeing that they are just building a new club house, I cannot see that happening.

I live within 10 minutes of VillaMartin, just over the motorway bridge..so any time that you are over and like with Andy, if you need a lift from the airport, just let me know. Just be warned that Murcia airport is closed now, the new one opens for next year and that is a bit further than the current one.

320? Think I'm from Liverpool? Try 396 yards uphill and then with backspin on the green.

I like any COLOR in shoes.

I was over in Villa Martin for a few weeks back in September and the father in law has a car out there so got to know the area well. Spent a fair bit of time at Cabo Roig particularly at the medical centre at the end of the strip. Where abouts in Cabo Roig are you. Oh and its Las Colinas not Las Ramblas that he prefers. Thanks for the offer of the lift. Im gutted they shut Murcia San Javier as it's just so easy and convieninet.

Welocme along. I can think of worse places to play golf during the winter. Think youl'll fit in just fine here

Thanking thee Homer old chap. I found this by doing a search for the T/Made clip on wotsits...looked like a decent place, so decided to give it a good 3 wood whack.

Must admit, one benefit of living here is the weather and the year round golf. Only just taken it up again in May, had a fair lengthy lay off due to a hit and run on my Harley in California..screwed up my rotator cuff.

welcome Steve, you can keep us warm with pictures of you playing in shorts (just re-read that and it doesnt come across well:rolleyes:) but you get my drift.
Loved my Spanish golf, played La Cala solid for 3 weeks and loved it, roasting hot and course almost to ourselves as we teed off at noon:rofl::whoo:
