Hi Steve.

It's customary to start a thread when you join to introduce yourself - not to worry- done it for Ya!!

Welcome to the Madhouse..

Oh and by the way..

We all hate you coz you're in the warm!!:ears:

Well, thank you kind Sir!! I was going to start one, honest...but I am watching the rugby as well.

It ain't so warm out here right now, but granted, it is a lot warmer here than there and, hate to p*ss you off again, I was out in shorts on Wednesday and most likely will be again this coming Wednesday!

Okay, back to my cold beer ;)

Well that's no way to endeer yourself to the forum Steve!

Welcome aboard anyway though

What course do you play Steve?

Hi Andy; I play with the San Miguel Golf Society (smgs.org) and we play a variety, but we play VillaMartin and LaFinca every first and last Wednesday of the month. The other two weeks are spread around various courses like, Alicante (Seve designed), Roda, La Serena, Las Ramblas, El Plantio, Alenda, Bonalba and so on.

Brilliant. I play La Finca every year on holiday. Just an amazing course. My m8 has just bought a villa so will be looking for a few cheap deals lol

Played Roda also but never thought much of it condition wise. Much prefer Lo Romero, Las Colinas and Hacienda del Alamo

Maybe get a game when out next year.

I love La Finca, nice fairly long course and one of these days, wind being right, I am taking on that 17th green!!
Las Colinas is another cracking course too. Not played Alamo yet, but it is on the list for us to play.

I live in Cabo Roig, so when you come over, if you need transport from the airport, holler. We'll also have a game somewhere too. I know where to get some good deals.

Your not that far from the accommodation I usually use. Up at the Playa Flamenca CC.

I've used The Golf Factory every year for my golfbut done some shopping at Campoamor La Fuente, and found the Great Golf Company. His deals looked pretty good so will see what he offers. Has a shop down your way also.

Cheers for the lift lol

The Golf Factory bloke plays with us every Wednesday.

The Great Golf Co by me has closed now, they only really sold clothes. The one at La Fuente is still there..but to be very honest with you, I buy all my balls and stuff from the UK and have it shipped over, American Golf ship here for a tenner. Most decent shops ship over here for a tenner or £12.50. I tend to buy 4 or 5 boxes of balls at once and it is SO much cheaper than buying them over here.

The R11 Driver here is 395€...£290 in AG and £10 to ship....£300 and that is around 330€.

I did notice equipment, balls and accessories were expensive.

Did get some bargains on clothes last year.

Also played Hacienda Riquelme last year. Some of the best greens I've putted on in Spain but the layout wasn't to my liking.

Must admit Andy, you can get some good prices on clothes, but not as cheap as the shorts I buy in Carrefour!

Just got a nice deal on an electric trolley though John, the Golf factory man, sold me his old one for 50€, new battery 70€...perfick!

But yes, equipment is very expensive out here...so is the bloody golf if truth be told! We are lucky as the match sec of SMGS is the pro at Campoamor and he knows everyone and we get special deals, plus the winners of the 3 groups (Gold, Silver and Bronze) on the day get a free game voucher for that course, which last for 12 months. The next time I play La Finca, last Wdnesday of the month, free round, same as for VillaMartin, got free game vouchers for those courses. saves me around 76€!!
