He's back..... Again!

He could have played at our Men's Open the other Week, that went pretty much under the radar, he would have had a fighting chance at lowest gross score.

When I announced last week I was going to Safeway, I had every intention of playing, or I wouldn't have committed. I spent a week with the U.S. Ryder Cup Team, an honor and experience that inspired me even more to play. I practiced the last several days in California, but after a lot of hours, I knew I wasn't ready to compete against the best golfers in the world. I will continue to work hard, and plan to play at my foundation's event, the Hero World Challenge, in Albany.

I don't believe this now as he's playing at Pebble Beach in another of his Foundation Days, that being the Invitational Day that he hosts and plays in for 3-days and played yesterday!

This day sells out a year in advance and TW is always expected to play as the host, how could he have done that if playing in the Safeway when the dates overlap?

It's catch 22 is it not? If he plays on tour he'll get his short game up to speed but over the course of a few events so some duff performances will happen, you can't get touch and feel through practice alone, there needs to be tournament pressure too. If he opts to keep delaying coming back because he's not where he thinks he needs to be with his short game he'll never get back.
Needs to get back in the saddle pronto imo, either get on with it or give up, he's 700+ in rankings anyway so what has he got to lose? Everyone knows he's had injuries/surgeries and much time out so aren't expecting miracles, everyone would really encourage him I think.

You cynic you! Interesting theory though

He's out of Turkey as well........the man is done. Ryder cup showed him where he needs to be and he's no where near it. Just my opinion of course.

Mine too! He won't come back if he doesn't feel he can compete at the very top! And he can't do that - and won't any more!

Shame, as I'd love to see him back at 'top' level. but it just ain't going to happen now imo!

What he did yesterday was a clinic apparently. I'd assume if there's an event as well and he plays in it, it's just a PR exercise.

I really want to believe his statement. If true it must be his short game isn't up to scratch.

The swing looks a lot easier on his body imo, but we'll see if he can be as restrained with a card in his pocket and young guys bombing it past him.
