Hendre Fourie

I think what makes this worse is that his contract was cancelled by Sale due to his having to retire as a result of an injury he picked up whilst playing for England.

Just looked at the BBC website and there appears to be a bit of a lifeline for him as the border agency have said "his visa has not been curtailed at this time - he's not required to leave".

I heard that he's had quite a bit of interest from schools potentially looking to employ him (he's a qualified teacher).

Finger's crossed for him and his family on this.

I've a feeling this has been blown right out of proportion. The UKBA said that he hasn't been told to leave, rather that Sale informed them that his contract, upon which his visa was awarded, had been terminated/cancelled. He's got options to stay, but perhaps he has chosen to leave?

I certainly hope he does stay, got injured on England duty and to my mind should be granted leave to remain!

Cant agree with that
" on England duty" is not what it was; anyone who comes over here on business posting for 3 years is entitled to play rugby for England
That is hardly duty, and does not to my mind give you a right to stay for ever.

Sympathies for him if his career has been ended, he was highlighted as someone pretty good; hope he gets a chance for a second career
