Evening all,

Help guys!!

Due to a couple of call offs we now have one (maybe 2) spaces available at Spey Valley in Aviemore the day before Castle Stuart. If you've missed the previous threads (shame on you) then it's £55 for coffee/bacon rolls on arrival, a round of golf with use of a buggy and a 2 course meal afterwards. A cracking deal on a spectacular course.

http://www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk/aviemore/golf/index.htm

Tee times from 12.30 to 13.50.

Anyone wanting to join in will get a chance to play with the following fellow forumers in a wee team match for GM (ably captained by thecraw, with vice captains Algar5 & Smiffy) against my band of artisans from Clark's Bar (with a few forum ringers thrown in)

Waiting to hear from madandra confirming if he can make the day but there is at least one other space free so if you're interested then make yourself known. It'll be a hoot.

Alec,

That's what I like to hear! Good man.

You're not actually some bandicoot off 12 though are you?...in which case you can take a swim. I'm hoping to get some points on the board with my dodgy team.

Seriously. Welcome aboard. Get to Aviemore for brekkies and meet up with the boys ...and bring yer camera. It's a doozy. We'll post final pairings and tee off times nearer the day.

As long as you're a certainty no need for a deposit. Just pay on the day.

PM me if you need any more details.

Cheers

John

Yeah Smiffy,

The yellow's are plenty around there. I remember the par 3's ranging from about 6-4 irons with a light breeze with plenty of long par 4's to boot.

I played there with Calum a couple of years back now and he was the only one to hit the 16th??? I think and he hit driver. It was windy and long.

Boys a beast! (3 putted for a half though :D)

Went out this morning for some Scottish weather practice.

Wind was blowing fairly strong.
So much so that I played a 5 iron to lay up at a short par 4 as the 3 ball in front had just gone onto the green. Flushed it and it finished 10 paces short of the green 270yds  following wind.
Same club at a par 3 into the wind went about 130yds, I normally play a 9 iron to this green.

Spent most of the round picking me stand bag back up off the deck.

Ball was moving on the greens.

S'pose it is just a mild breeze north of the border.

Was up inverness today and the sun was shining, Granton east to Elgin is bad but Aviemore looks fine. Was also at the airport and Castle Stuart is nearby and it's all OK. Nairn dunbar looks great too as I passed there too on my deliveries. Oh the joys of being a lorry driver ;)

Got to be honest, I am getting a bit worried. I keep checking the webcam view at Boat of Garten. Two weeks ago the course turned green and I was watching people teeing off the first with big smiles on their faces.
Now it's a snow scene again
