Im a beginner and have been playing for about 2 months now, practising on the golf range and on a good par 3 course, im now looking at taking a step up and going to a new course which is bigger almost all par 4’s now iv been told im going to need something in the terms of driver woods or hybrids, ive read loads of reviews and every single one has been positive of the Cleveland Launcher Hybrid Graphite!
But then as I went to order the club I saw 2 types of shafts GOLD and RED graphite, now being a beginner and not completely knowledgable of golf, I don’t know what would suit me, or be the better choice, im playing Friday at the course and need to get something sorted as soon as possible any advice would be amazing

Thanks for reading

I always struggle to cross-reference on certain makes of shaft. I looked at the Fuji' website and couldn't find anything useful.

At a first glance, it seems clear to me that the Gold shaft (65g) is probably the one more aimed at the amateur player.

i.m.o. very few players are going to need an 85g graphite in their hybrid clubs. OK, so there is a regular in the Red, but this is not unusual for 2 types of shaft to offer a regular in both types.....the reason being (I guess) that a player "capable" of playing either may prefer the launch more with one type.

I have just changed from a 75g to a 65g shaft in my hybrid and the results are good so far.

Unless you have a powerful swing, go for the gold. As ever, a custom fit session should give you instant feedback. Probably better to play with the lighter version.

Go for Gold!

I think the two different couloured shafts differentiate the trajectory of the ball flight. Gold is for a higher/beginner flight and the red is for a lower tour style ball flight.

Could well be right. The Gold keeps the ball down, and the Red gets it up....supposedly.
It makes sense..... :)

wow! thanks so much for all the advice! ive gone from looking at drivers to woods and now to this which i really do think learning with at first will help so much for when i need the woods/driver, but then again im not sure if im talking rubbish, regular flex along with the gold shaft seems to be what ive got to order, like i said im a complete beginner and as long as im not making a huge mistake ordering this ill be really happy to get learning!

thanks so much for helping!
