My partner is stuck in Spain so I have to play our match tonight on my own Vs an 8hc and 13hc!

So has anyone got any advice or positive tales of how they truned this type of match around??

Its a BB match play format.

There's not many shots in it so just go out and play. Treat it like a 3-way singles match. I've done this before and found it ok - not having to worry about what my partner is doing. If he hits a bad shot it puts more pressure on you to play a good one - that's not there now. Don't try to play a different game to the one you would normally play. You're off 9 so you know how to play. Just get out there and give it to 'em Man!

Not rocket science to say it will be a big ask to beat two guys on your own but I still think it is "do-able".

You are only giving 3 shots away to one of them so a lot of the game will be "as you lay" so you can keep a good idea of what the match situation is. Try to focus on compiling the best medal round you possibly can , as a 9 h'cap you are able to par all holes and have probably birdied them all at one time or another, so you never know this could be the time for a level par gross round!!

Whichever way you can play really relaxed as all the pressure will be on them as it is more than a little embarrassing to get beaten by a single!!

Good luck.

You're up against it that's for sure but you have no pressure so just go and play is if it were a bounce game, enjoy it and you never know. Good luck.

ALL the pressure is going to be on the 'team'. Could you imagine the humiliation of being tucked away by one man. Go out, have a laugh, distract them by talking and joking and try and get into their heads. If you get beat 5 and 4 you are going to have more pride in the result than them.

Go for it.

I'd suggest you just treat it like a medal.
Just try to par as many holes as possible.
Don't do anything daft as that could lead to a definate lost hole.
The longer you stay in a hole the better, in fact they could get annoyed if you keep it close, or they might be over confident of winning.

My first winter league partner was a bit of a liability (wild therefore lots of lost balls) so I often ended up playing holes on my own, so there is hope.

The odds are maybe stacked against you so just prepare as best you can and go out and play and enjoy it. Also, imagine what they are thinking - there's two of us so how bad will it look if we lose!! If you get off to a good start, the more pressure you'll put on both of them!

Good luck.

I'd be so chuffed to have the opportunity to take a pair on by myself.

Nothing to lose, everything to gain? Bring it on.

Your greatest victory on the golf course could be just hours away!

Get out there, hand their arses to them and then bore us all to death tonight about your glorious victory!

Well chaps I went down 5&4 but never really hit my top game and also had to put up with them getting kicks off the tree's on to the green and thinning through bunkers to 3ft.

13hc bloke dropped 1 through 7 holes!! :D

well done pal dont let the result get to you think would you be jumping around happy if you and your mate had beat 1 bloke on his own 5&4

Hold your head up as that isn't a bad performance on your own. Sounds like it wasn't going to be your day regardless. Take the positives out of your game and hopefully you'll carry on playing well. And your mate owes you several drinks
