I found a hedgehog walking round in circles in my cul de sac this morning. It's now curled up in a box with some dog food and water. Rescue centre opens at 9am, I think it's damaged one of it's front legs

Poor little thing. A friend found one a few days ago. It had a broken leg and had to be put to sleep. At least it's a pain-free, peaceful ending if that's the only option. Well done for taking it in.

It’s a she, dropped her off at the rescue centre. Damaged rear leg but they think she will be ok

I had one in the back garden a few months back. First time I have had one in years. I reckon it is because the rats have created holes under the fences.

You should have gaps in your fencing for them.

My neighbour replaced the fences a few years ago with concrete 'boards' at the bottom. Any digging of holes at my age is something that I rarely do.
The other side has paving stones right up to the fence line.

They can get in via the gate to my back garden which has a suitable gap under it.

Same here. I even saw some hog on our first fairway yesterday.

I just rang the centre for an update. She has lung worms and gastro worms and getting treatment for those, optimistic she will be ok. They have named her Marmalade
