I agree with what Rooter says. I tested 34 rescue clubs at the Belfry and they wouln't let me see the manufacturers or club details before each appraisal. I was handed a club, hit a couple of warm up shots then about a dozen shots with it, they recorded everything on Trackman and then I gave marks out of 5 for various catagories such as feel, looks etc the club that I liked best came second overall. The panel was a friend I went with off 18, me off 12, David Connor off 10 and one of the Belfry Pro's and everyone did exactly the same testing as each other. David said that he has often written bad reviews about advertisers stuff and had some terse phone calls but honesty was paramount!
Yes the big manufacturers won but then the were the best gear and as Rooter said the equipment editor David Connor was a real nice guy.
