Handicap - going up or down?

I tend not to worry about h/c at all. My game is a bit up and down and one good turnout for me can wipe out half a dozen poor showing increases. I play a lot of matchplay in a year and one or two comps that are not used for h/c, I can also play 4 or 5 that are used and watch my h/c go up a bit at a time, only to see it wiped out or lowered from one outing. So I never worry about where my h/c is at any time, I know what I can do from time to time, and if I didnt do it at least once a year I would end up a real bandit.

I Got to 15 in feb but since then my driver has decided to slice again and the handicapp is moving the wrong way.

Ditching the driver fo a few rounds and i will see where that takes me.

with my handicap since september its been dropping as i've won 2 tournaments and dropped my handicap from 24 to 17 and am still playing under my handicap as my average score is 81. Also my coach has given me a challenge that by the end of the year i should be playing off single figues.

Bandit! ;)

Hi,

my club hc has stayed the same 24. But on a positive note society handicap has gone down to 18.

Cheers

Midnight...

What is a society handicap?
Surely you should be using your CONGU handicap in all golf events?

Mine is slowly coming down from 8.4 to 7.8 in three comps and will stay there i not getting the time to play comps this month

My quest for Cat 1 is coming

No Birdieman, not necessarily. You can play off a lower h/cap, just not a higher one. I play off 11, but my society h/cap is 7. This means I have won far too often, and so have been pinged to level the field abit. You could put the others up, but some, off 28 have no where to go.

Mine started off at 15.2 then crept down to 12.5. Then went down to 12.1, then 12.2 but now safely down at 11.0. My end of season target is 7 which i fell i can achieve if i work hard.

h/c-11

Started at 19.3 now at 17.1--initial target is 15 for the end of the season. A couple of good rounds next few months should get me there.

Congrats to all on their reductions and to those going the other way keep the faith.

I joined my first club this year & got a 24.3 handicap to start with, after last nights stableford competition I'm now at 24.5 so it's up to 25.

This to most of you probably sounds like a bad thing but to me it's good as I'm not even close to playing to a 25 handicap yet though played pretty well yesterday, maybe that's due to not using the driver...

Also we didn't finish up until well after 10 last night which was great but weird at the same time as I've never played that late before, we were half eaten by midges but that's the beauty of living in Ireland.
