If it feels like cramp it could even be sciatica. I slipped a disc and had no pain in my back but it felt like constant cramp all down my leg. If you only get pain in your thigh it could be a different disc trapping a different branch of the nerve.

following is an extract from spine-health
Sciatic symptoms vary based on where the compressed nerve root is located. For example:

  • L4 nerve root sciatica symptoms usually affect the thigh. Patients may feel weakness in straightening the leg, and may have a diminished knee-jerk reflex.

Gout.

Definitely gout

Take a course of mycoxaflopin and you'll be fine

Thought i should update from this morning..

... No pain this morning so walked nipper to school... Nearly got away with it.. some pain back when i got in. So i think it might not have been something fundamental yesterday. A lot of clear drink (mostly water as I skipped the Vodka) might have helped.

I guess another day of ice and not moving much might just solve it. As a precaution, may skip playing a round this weekend (anyways the course has been very boggy)

You not going for the "late fitness test" and getting the physio (other half) to put you through your paces first

Arrh.. the pain is back - though not the stinging one (yet). I realised that in certain positions it starts to reappear. So back on the icepack today.

Is there any pain or unusual feelings in the calf back of the knee, ankle or even the foot.

It is sounding more and more like sciatica which is a lower back problem.

Nothing in the knee.. it is kind of the back middle/upper-middle of the left thigh. In a sitting position, its almost at the place where the thigh crosses the chair. HID suffers from sciatica, so hopeful its not the same..
