Let's try and get 2 list - 1 for golfers, with ETA around 7.30, I guess, and the other for the hardened alcoholics who will be there at 6 or so!

Please add names below

Drinkers - ETA 6PM - but likely earlier!!:
  • PNWokingham
Fish (from lunchtime ? )

I know a lot who are plkaying at Sonning will probably be too late for curry. But i would recommend the Boishakhi for those who want a curry dinner.

https://boishakhi.co.uk/app/

I am probably not golfing but happy to lead the eating and drinking party :)
Drink:
Given the issues with social disctancing etc, i think the best place will be winebar 56. If enough people want to come i can probably book one of the three distinct areas in the pub - was thinking behind the bar that leads to the garden - there are 3 x 4 seat booths and 2 x 2 seat tables. We can also book out a chunk of the gardem. One area has a partial cover and could seat about 12. Let us know interset and timing and i can then have a word with the manager. Real ale drinkers will not be happy but choices are limited - draft is peroni (sold out atm as a country sghortage so now temporarily Heineken, a cider and a craft bear - Punk i think). There is a great wine list and they do a few dishes - cheese, meat platters, meatballs etc

Boishakhi is excellent. Good choice.

The Boishakhi is circa 300 yards from 56

Please copy and add names as relevant and any notes - be nice to have peoples first names as well - if more a larger number i will see if we can get extra space

Drinkers - ETA 6PM 56 - but could be out and about earlier!!:
  • PNWokingham (Paul). Could be persuaded to start a bit earlier - pubs open Midday!! :)
  • Fish (Robin) - ealier the better - so maybe in bed by 4!! :ROFLMAO:o_O
  • Pieman (Paul) - might be playing golf
  • Stuart C (Tracey!)
  • Duffers (Paul)
  • Blue in Munich (Richard)
Golfers - ETA 7.30 (if different please mention)
  • Drive4show (Gordon)
  • Paperboy (Simon)
  • Liverpool Phil (Dorris!)
  • Old Skier (Jeff?) - 6ish at 56 - then curry 7.15 - and back probably 8.30
  • Old Skier guest
  • Traminator
  • Papas1982 (Dave)
  • Papas' Dad
Pre 56 drinks - Liverpool playing Chelskie at 4,30. Probably the best option will be the Station Tap - next to the Station and about 7 minutes walk from centre of Wokingham.

Anyone wanting food before 56 in the town centre has a choice of 5 curry houses (Boishakhi my personal favourite but they are all good) or pub food at The Lord Raglan, The Broad Street Tavern, The Ship; Thai food at The Red Lion pub (Pad Thai) and Giggling Squid. There is also a Nandos, Pizza express and Zizi

Pub Recommendations: Real Ale: The Queens Head, The Ship, The Crispin, The Broad Street Tavern. The Redan (no real ale) is also a favourite ans sister pub of 56 and is quite funky with a rear garden. There are 2 new pub/ bars in the Square in between 56 and Redan - The Leafy Elephant is a gin bar and Sit and Sip is a boutique bar focused on craft beer. Others include Red Lion (thai), The Roebuck, the Victoria Arms, Hope & Anchor.

You don't have far to walk to have an extensive pub crawl in the middle of Wokingham!

Remember - any yoghurt-knitting, yurt-dwelling tree-huggers will need to bring letters signed by their mammies!

obviously new rules of 6 are in place but 56 is likely to be relatively quiet so i am still going and will have a table of 6 outside if weather is good - there should be space for many other tables but obviously no mixing!!

Is he still keeping it open?

I had a little look online, seems most places close rather early on Sundays?
