grrrrrrr fellow forum member

Were your greens as good as they were on Thursday?Pish wet but still lovely and fast, beautiful to putt on.

Enjoyed the course immensely, tight as a gnats chuff and only criticism would be that the fact there are few Par 5's and 3's means that it gets a bit 'samey' .Would say tho that your 2 par 3's are strong holes and the clubhouse is as cheap as chips!
Thanks Allan, the green keeper will be chuffed with your comments. The greens are lovely at the moment. All the members say the key to playing well around the course is hitting the fairways, just as you summed it up.
As a family we often eat at the clubhouse and as you say is not only cheap but reasonable quality as well.
The bunker at the front of the 16 th is new and has added to the setting of that hole.
Glad you enjoyed, you may even get an invite back now ;)

It was me. Before you all fall over yourselves, the 2 ahead were clear of the green and we couldn't see them, so assumed they had finished the hole. Neither myself or my playing partner knew they were still playing the hole. The next tee is behind bushes so we assumed they were on it.Only as i struck my ball did they re -appear. I apologised profusely, twice, i've been playing golf for a long time and have never done anything like that. It was simply a misunderstanding, they do happen sometimes.

cheers Bigslice

apologies accepted i was just posting an interesting thing that happened, im still laughing at it the day. just aswell my playing partner is a solicitor

The course at Bogside is tough old cookie. I will agree it gets very repetitive with long par 4 after long par 4 but it is a great course all the same. I would disagree about the 8th being strong its nothing special. I also think the 17th and 18th are great finishing holes.

When I played it a couple of years back in the British the greens were fantastic.

It was blowing and wet but the scoring of the 8 was 23 to 27 points and we played off the yellows!!

One lad had lost 5 after 6 I think it was and looked like he could walk in but even he loved the track......I played ***** but enjoyed it and I always say it's a sign of a good course when that happens.

That 13th is it,the one along the fence, blind tee shot at lowest part of back 9? was crazy long, nutted our drives and all had 225 to 210 to front so 3 woods and no one found the green!!

Great fun.

It's strong when 3 wood isn't reaching it!!

Not so sure David would agree with that, haven't heard the story of his finish yesterday but I believe there is one.

ah i forget, well the truth is i never got to talk to you as you NRd and walked:whoo:. i hit three tee shots one is probably on a coal train. my in play ball thinned through the green and i thought take my putter and a nine iron!!! ball in bunker 4 5 shots later ball out of bunker then two putts in hole:thup:

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mr Bigslice , is it true you have only informed the forum jury of half the story & in a way leaning twords yourself . our learned friend Mr Granters has cause to believe you were "possibly" lurking in the bushes , awaiting his approach ?so you could post this thread & embarass him in front of his forum peers .. he firmly believes you are such a GOOD golfer you could NOT have possibly have hit your ball behind the offending bushes on the next tee ? is it true you hid your clubs out of the sight of the defendant ? possibly to encourage such a shot from him ? I put it to you Mr Bigslice that you have been planning this since MR Granters parked in your special car park place all of 2 months ago ?
I move for all allagations of bad etiquette to be dismissed in this case

nothing of the sort, said green is about 150 yards away with steep slopes to the side and back. i was nowwhere near the bushes (this time). but lurking at the back. we hadnt even taken the flag out which the group behind should have noticed. i can see how the said person had a moment of madness and all is forgotten. it wasnt like he had a score going anyway N R the back nine. his beliefs that im a good golfer are unfounded although i did get a 2 at this hole two comps running
