I keep seeing various posts on Instagram with adverts for grip socks for golf, firms like Koi Golf and Gain the Edge. Does anyone wear them when playing golf and do you reckon they help? Thinking about dropping a hint to the Mrs for a Christmas present

Very popular in football, even when you can't visibly see them apparently, but I'm not sure I see the benefit in a relatively sedentary game such as golf. No harm done though if you get them

I have suffered from blisters occasionally but never golfing.
I cannot see how socks provide stability, all sounds a bit hype without substance.

I've used Gain The Edge socks for football the last couple of years. I've not had any problems with blisters, but then who knows if I would've done without them? One of those things that sounds good in theory, but impossible to say how effective they are since you don't really notice your socks while you're playing.

I suppose if your feet were moving around in your shoes a little, you could argue you haven't quite got the right size shoes rather than it being a sock issue. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I can't imagine they make a noticeable difference, but then nothing to lose by wearing them either.

A couple of weeks ago I would of thought this thread was a wind up, however, my wife said she’d got me 3 pairs of running socks from TEMU, 😩 obviously I had to look grateful as she was doing a nice thing.

I got them out the packet and found they had rubber(or some material) things on the sole, I’ve now worn them everyday for running for the last 15 days and I have to say the “grip” bit on the bottom, does seem to work, even when my feet have got warm they have stayed in place, I’ve suffered in the past with “hot spots” which I normally tape up, insteps and heels, I’ve not used or felt I’ve needed the tape while wearing these.

Pictures below show a pair from above and below, the black bits on the rear upper are not the same material, just a black pattern.

Will they work for Golf? I don’t see why not, but being thin running socks I’ll try inside another pair.

I’ve no idea how much Grip socks cost, these were £4.00 for 3 pairs😂😂
