Grip size- how many layers of tape?

After extensive research I am pulling the trigger on my new irons. I currently have jumbo grips on my clubs but am wanting a grip that is only available in midsize. So the question is, how many layers of tape to bring these grips up to jumbo size?

should work out to approx 6 layers of tape but wouldnt recommend it personally, you end up with a hard layer of tape then a grip which is stretched too thin over the top, nowhere near as good as having the right sized grip

I agree 100% with the above assuming the grip core and butt diameter are like for like (0.60 v 0.60)
