Great result for Murray - however!

.....and now for listeners in England.

Peeve = urine [as in 'out on the urine']
Barry = brilliant.

As in an earlier post I will support England in almost anything other than Fitba and Rugger.
My reason is historical arrogance and disrespect by English media and fans of those sports.
Examine the history of results of those two sports between the countries and you will find that there are only a few matches in it.

May be so in Football, but England have won getting near twice as many (70 vs 40 ish) as Scotland at Rugby!

Still find I'm an ABE fan though. As you posted, it's the arrogance of the Journos and Pundits that does that for me, though it was (Ex Welsh Captain) Eddie Butler and a stupid English decision against Wales at Wembley in 1999 that made me realise it - so Scotland beating them late in 2000 was quite good too!

Calcutta Cup.......England won slightly more than half of the games. Scotland won about a third the rest drawn.
Now factor in the population and number of rugby clubs for each nation.

Bit of a selective sample and (hardly surprisingly) not much different - 66-39

An Aussie mate once wrote my 'population ratio' excuse as 'Small Country Syndrome'. Though I know which country holds the Bledisloe Cup!

As I keep saying Devon and Cornwall have more rugby clubs than Scotland, so yea small country and proud!

Not sure you'd survive very long in a Cornish Rugby Club lumping them, together with Devon, as English!

Back On topic-ish, Gasquet has hit some incredible backhands to take the first set. An has done the same to go a break up in the second!

As a proud Englishman I support neither England or Scotland at football as it is a pointless exercise as they will inevitable lose playing mostly poor quality football ;) I'm more of a Spanish man myself. Si Si Senior.

And as for Murray I like him, especially after watching that documentary on the BBC Sue Barker did. In fact I especially like him as he tends to wind up people a lot. And he's a winner.

As per my post yesterday, I liked him before, but the documentary was very very good and showed his private life very well. PS. his mrs is quite fit too!

Not the best of starts for Murray.

Error-ridden 1st set goes the wrong way - and a broken racket and Warning to Murray!

Needs to get more 1st serves in and needs something more on the 2nd. In trouble on serve again!

Heard his post match interview this morning, I can see the haters will be out again, but i can understand i think what he was feeling, building yourself up for something like that after a phenomenal year last year (which took YEARS to get to) must be difficult.

Chin up Andy and on to the next one!

Whatever anyone else thinks about what he might say about his losing - Andy has to sort out acceptance of getting knocked out at this relativelyu erarly sdtage for him these days and understanding why. Then he just puts it behind him and moves on. Liek us having an out of character round of golf. We'll rationalise it in some way that we are comfortable with. Whether it's the reality or not and whether it's not what was evident to others - it really doesn't matter to us. We want to rationlise, accept and move on confident that it was a blip and normal service (sorry) will be resumed.
