We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Has anyone had any experience of the new Sonocaddie Auto Play? Seems like all the strengths of the V300 with all the course pre-loaded? I just wish they would sort out some Mac softare for it.
One other bonus for the lazer devices is that they are independant, but the GPS types rely on systems always operating, maybe no one can ever concede that one day someone might forget to pu the shilling in the meter.
Despite deciding on the SC 2.5 for Xmas - reading these posts has made me seriously consider the Sonocaddie - and the luxury of a couple of months to browse, haggle and save....and change my mind several times.
For those who opted for the Sonocaddie, was there anything apart from lack of fees that made the difference? Also - how easy is it to read in sunny weather? (it hardly rains in Norfolk!)
After thinking it over for the last couple of days i reckon i'm almost there with my decision , i think the sureshot would probably be the best option for me as it has all the functions and features that im looking for.Don't get me wrong i'm sure that the other 2 units are fantstic pieces of kit but with the sonnocaddie i just doesnt have the same amount of mapped courses in Scotland that the sureshot or skycaddie have (bobmac - thanks very much on you're offer to maybe get me one a bit cheaper). And with the skycadsdie i think its overpriced at an extra 70-80 pounds plus the annual subscription that goes with it.
I,ve still got until the 6th October (my birthday) to make up my mind so i'm still open to suggestions about other options.
