Really delighted to see pietersen back in the runs. Back to back centuries, but more importantly he looked like the old, confident swashbuckling kp who is a bit cheeky and puts anything on the stumps through mid wicket, silly way together out, but I think we can cut him some slack this time :)

How on earth can you say hes crap? He is probably our best player bar none. Yes cook has done well with the bat over the last 18 months but KP is in a class of his own no one else is such a match winner as he can be. This one day series hes had 3 out of 4 partnerships of over 50 with Cook. Its not always about scoring the runs as he has done in the past its the fact hes stayed there. He is a player other teams fear as they know what he can do. He has matured so much in the past 2 years he isnt this swashbuckling player anymore that has a lot of arrogance he is described as being the hardest working player in that squad. He was the key player in the t20 world cup win last time round. Bearing in mind that KP scored 202* and 175 in the last home test series against india. There is no way we should drop him would be amongst the all time most stupid decisions ever made by the ECB.

The test squad of 14 players should be left as they are for now, our batsmen are superb and we have one of the best sets of bowlers I have ever seen in Finn, Anderson, Bresnan, Tremlett, Broad, Swann, Panesar. Of which 3 of them add to the already strong batting line up we have. It has been proved they were undercooked for the test series and should have done the one dayers first to get them used to the conditions.

I was good enough in my youth to play alot of cricket and played against him regularly. Kev has always been a player who needs to 'feel' that he is better than the opposition. He was easy to wind up and would lose concentration and his rag often enough. He wasn't much of a match winner back then but crickey he has improved every aspect of his game, with the exception of his bowling, 100 fold. England should never lose faith in his abilities as a batsman because he is a proven match winner. Every team that he plays against will spend hours planning on how to deal with him and this means tha the other batsmen are being thought about less which gives them moree of a chance. I know from experience that if someone you are bowling to is smashing you all over the park (regularly happened to me) then you focus pretty much all your effort on that person and the other batsman gets an easier ride. I wish he had satyed in South Africa and played for us but there were some issues around selection at Natal.

There have been times when I've not been his greatest fan - he has times when he just doesn't seem to care about the team and is happy just giving his wicket away.

BUT

This last year or so he has been fantastic. All his natural talent but with a bit of spine to it as well. Playing for the team means his personal performances stand out more imo.

Well done young man, keep it up.

I understand that KP came over to England as an off spinner who could also bat abit is that correct or was he always a stronger batsmen?

I think when it looks like hes given his wicket away its him trying to dominate bowling attacks too much which makes him look a little bit of a selfish player but I am sure its just the fact hes trying to dominate. He is an honest player as well he spoke his mind about the previous management and it cost him the captaincy but if he wouldnt of done that we could still be stuck with Peter Moores and no Andy Flower. Hes also admitted he still doesnt pick Ajmal so when he attacks its a bit of a lottery as he doesnt know which way its spinning. If he can score like that without being sure which way its going then imagine what he could do when he is sure.
