Well 9 holes and >50 shots later mixed feelings. Really good to get out and stay dry but played off winter tees hey-ho. Felt good for a couple of shots but with new irons lacked the follow through (too bloody scared of over hitting so duff shots instead).

Positive is that hungry for more

Nearly always the problem when you play with brand new clubs. It's in the head. You think that your new shineys are going to make a big difference to how you hit the ball. You convince yourself that you are going to hit it much, much further than you did with your old clubs.
With everything struck sweetly out of the middle.
And without realising it, you throttle back.
You get frustrated with the results. Your frustration leads to anxiety, and before you know it your game has gone out the window. And it's too late, you can't get it back.
Give it another few rounds. After two or three you will begin to think that you've made an expensive mistake. You should have stuck with your old bats. But then suddenly you will start to hit the odd better shot. Much better than you did with your old clubs. Then the better shots will become more frequent. Your confidence will come back. You DID do the right thing. These ARE better!!! Whoohooo!!
Then a few games later you will go out and play like a numpty again and realise why we all have a love/hate relationship with this poxy game.
