Hi All,

Does anyone use the GolfWRX forum, is it any good? I am lead to believe there is alot of techy stuff on there with regard to clubs and that is really my cup of tea.

I have registered but it takes a few hours to get accepted. Will I enjoy it or is it just a bunch of American rubbish?

Thanks

Alex

Invariably whenever I google something specific it takes me there, had a brief look round but very american. good for seeing the new shinys first and worth having a look in some of the tour pros bags though

Is there lots of tech talk on shafts and the like?

Its a great site for information and our cousins across the pond to whap it oot and compare and boast!

I hover, and skulk aboot, dont post. Usually some interesting reading on it!

from what ive seen yes mainly as people asking and getting responses, its as if they have multiple Ethans lol

Mmm, not sure if that is having a go at me, them or both.

WRX has a lot of stuff on it, and like most internet forums, most of it is rubbish. If you dig through and filter out some of it, can be quite informative. There is a big US focus though, most often seen in people posting negative stuff about Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and European golf in general. Some of their free draws and competitions are restricted to US residents only.

Agreed, some interesting reading on it and pretty good for reviews of stuff.

They are properly mental about customising clubs though!

Definitely great for techy stuff. You can learn lots about shafts in particular.

Aditionally:

You'll feel inadequate for not 'bombing your gamer 300+ with a baby fade'.

You'll think JO's 'You are wrong' posts are congratulatory!

You'll realise how stupid Americans can be with posts like 'Will my headcover scratch my Scotty'

Youl'll learn why TM market the way they do.

Enjoy

PS: There's no-one quite like Homer there though. He's unique to GM.

Ha! you're right Foxy... I'd love to see some of our resident 20h/cap 'experts' over there.... it's proper tough.... I mean bullet tough. If you don't know the trackman stats for every ball flight including angle of attack and HSP then don't even think about posting :)

I have about 500 posts

This forum is like a school boys holiday camp compared to that place.

It's better to be here and talk about the weather...

..... cold out isn't it?

theres a lot of info but be careful if you have an opinion, they can round on you like rabid dogs if you dare say something that questions someones comments, they love lots of agreement and head nodding type threads I've noticed.
Lots of good insight and pictures of WITB and new kit though.
They have some amazing competitions as well, they gave away 10 yes TEN sets of RBZ irons one week but ONLY if you lived in Canada or USA. Odyssey new putter comp as well which looks worldwide

Similar to the Mizuno forum as well, they also only have threads with "yes I agree", "you are great" and "awesome"

woow woow wooooow!! I dont come into your posts and questions your handicap and qualifications to give advice.... Us 20 handicap experts are highly passionate.... :D

There is only one homer and there is for sure only one Ethan!!

PS: I find the Mizuno forum to be turd!!!

:D LOL

This place is like a school playground complete with (amongst other types) whingers, bullies, swots, snobs, those that can afford school dinners, those that can't and smokers on the bus... that place is more like Afganistan and the flippin' Taliban!!! :D ....go prepared!... wear a stab vest and watch out for IED's

I am registered, but don't think I have ever posted. Some of the topics are interesting, but some are so speciallist that they leave me cold. Any shaft talk is soley for 350 yard bombers, who change shafts weekly. No good for me then.

GolfWRX is also split up into about a million sub sections, which I can't see the point of.

They also have massive avatars, and massive signatures, which I don't seem to be able to turn off, so I get about 3 posts a page, and it is impossible to read in stealth mode.

Im Not registered to the golfwrx site, but regularly take a look, as its got some good posts and reviews, and sneak previews/photos on New Gear.
They always have good Pics from Tour Events, Whats In The Bag...etc, Demo Days
But as stated in a previous post, its mainly a Huge Bunch of Golf Nuts, mostly talking 'high end' & Tour Type Gear and Shafts..........and bouncing Trackman Figures off each other
But if you ever google a New Club or Golf Product, you are almost Defo going to be directed to a piece on the www.golfwrx.com site

Every time I do a search for a review I end up on GolfWRX. There is some good info if you can understand what they are talking about. Everyone on there must have about 20 sets of clubs and have the inside track on the R&D of every major equipment company.

and what is 'I'm currently gaming' all about, knobs !!
