I've looked at going there. Why do you say it's a definite no? I've got no first hand experience of it and have only seen their advertising so am genuinely interested in why you say that.

We went there for a friends 40th a couple years back and one of my best men father passed away whilst out playing there.

They don't fancy going back there just yet - still a bit too raw

Ah ok. Apologies for bringing it up. Has assumed it was poor quality courses/accomodation or something similar.

Well you get what you pay for there

It has one very nice course and the others are ok

The accomation is ok , facilities are ok with lots to do there

You get what you pay for .

You could do Leeds. Cracking courses and an awesome night out.
Moortown, Alwoodley and Sand Moor are all within half a mile of each other. Some brilliant ale houses in town and then onto Mojo and Sandanista till the sun comes up.

Swansea is a good craic for a night out so you could do macy peninsula, pennard and Langland bay which are all great courses that can be played pretty cheap. Could even do royal porthcawl on the way!

If all you want in the evening is a meal and then some beers Id be tempted to head to the Norfolk Coast. Hunstanton down to Cromer you have 5 or 6 cracking courses to choose from. Obviously the night life is more genteel, depends whether you want the going out option at all

Bournemouth - great courses, nice town, good pubs and restaurants etc

And that is the winner

We are doing Bournemouth

2 nights 3 rounds at Isle of Purbeck , Barton on Sea and Dorset Golf and Country Club - all for £220 each !!

Congrats. I got hitched in 2012 and we went to Bournemouth for my stag do, didn't play any golf though, just drank, watched football, completed lots of dares and got naked.....lots! I also met Callum Best in a bar and almost got in a fight with him after someone dared me to chat up his Mrs!! :ears: Lots of bar and clubs that have very laz attitudes to most things. I think one of my mates might still be there because no ones seem him since that weekend!!

Bournemouth is a horrendous town for a group of blokes, the bouncers are a right pain......Celtic Manor and taxi to Cardiff is the real call....

And a touch over 450 each for the weekend we want to go - bit steep

I got married last year and went to slaley hall for my stag Thursday, friday and left for newcastle saturday morning to meet up with the rest of the lads for a night out. Slaley hall was great!

Really? They give it away the other 363 days a year!!!

Its not cheap if you want to play all three courses over the weekend in summer.

You could prob reduce it by 100 quid if you dont play 2010.

We have non golfers who are coming up the Saturday night just to get smashed round Bournemouth

Sorry, just read my post. What i ment was, spent 2 nights at slayey with 3 rounds then drove into newcastle to meet the non golfers for a night out in jordy land and stayed in a hotel there. Hunting course is in my top 3

The ratio of lads to lasses was 50/50 on my stag do as the best men had booked a party bus to take us round 5 bars and a club and we shared the bus with a hen party. happy endings for some of my mates.

Heard its a great night out

Most of us are over the age of 40 though - a few under 40 so it shouldnt be too heavy :D

I'm sure you'll cope. We went to a comedy place one night as a start to the evening, a meal etc. The comedians were good except for this one bloke who my cousin heckled off the stage!!
