I'm finally taking the plunge this year and getting married so it will mean the all important stag do

Myself and my best men have decided that we all want a golfing based Stag Do in the UK

The group will range from a number of regular golfers plus the odd person who hasn't played for a while or doesn't play regularly and the odd person who has never played before.

We have looked through most of the destinations and possibly looking at a Kent golf Tour based in Deal , a Bristol one , Celtic Manor and possibly St Mellion

It will be for 2 nights and 3 rounds

So I'm looking for recommendations or hidden gems that we could possibly go too. Furthest north will be Birmingham I expect ?

Cheers in advance

Congratulations on taking the plunge! I'll probably be shot down in flames but we held a stag do at the Belfry, three courses, they will basically let non-golfers have a go, the food and drink is ok and it has the nightclub on site.

St Mellion is great, but a tough course for beginners (Nicklaus course) the kernow also a decent 2nd course , Saunton is also great, but not really close.

Seeing you have such a mix of abilities I would suggest 'The Bank House Hotel and Golf Club Worcester'. The golf course (Bransford Golf Club) and hotel are all on the same site, the course is difficult enough for anyone (14 Lakes) and you can get a good deal. Worcester is close if you want to go into town.

Farthingstone Golf Club, near Northampton. Nice course, nice bar, nice food, snooker room, squash courts, and quick cab ride into Northampton to the casino.

Unlimited golf, 2 night'sdinner, b&b, plus four free drinks per night for around £220!

What I did for my stag do and loved it.

We have already dismissed the Belfry - we aren't massive fans of it

Down time will be beers until early hours :D

Firstly, congratulations!

Secondly, I had my stag do as a golfing day. Loved it, had such a good craic with the lads. 14 years ago now, so probably not the best to recommend places etc. we did the usual longest drive and closest to the pin etc and then had a good night in a local boozer to finish off the day.

Enjoy it mate.

Saunton East, Saunton West and Royal North Devon. All within a mile or so of each other. Head into Woolacombe for some drinks afterwards.. Maybe a surf lesson if you have time...

This would be my recommendation, although night life isnt amazing in Woolacombe or Barnstaple (in the middle of the two).

Maybe go to Newquay? Play, Perranporth, Trevose and St Enodoc? we did this 2 years ago and it was brilliant.

Fixed that for you

Manor House and Ashbury complex near Oakhampton. Advertised three pages in from the back of this month's GM.
Worth a look on the web. So much to keep everyone happy, especially for a stag do.
Congratulations by the way.

I'd probably steer clear of places like Celtic Manor or the Belfry etc and go for a hotel near some courses and a town so the non-golfers won't feel obliged to play golf if they don't want to. E.g. go to a De Vere and play the course there and then visit another near by the next day

Personally you're missing a trick and I would recommend Las Vegas :D Did it for my mates stag do. 3 nights, 4 star hotel, 2 rounds of golf £1k.
