Afternoon all,

I am now on the lookout for a new bag. Have looked on gumtree and other sites for trolley bags, whilst looking I have seen some nice tour bags ( never considered one before)

Never had one before so excuse me for stupid questions but do tour bags fit on normal electric trolleys? Are they built to last ? What are the pros and cons of one of these ?

Cheers

Midnight....

I had a taylormade r11 tour bag a few years ago now, great bag, good storage, very sturdy, fit the trolly fine, but I went for a waterproof trolly bag, I carry a good bit but in summer I use the trolly for comps and stuff, used to have a big cover for when it rained but it wasn’t that practical so went for the waterproof bag instead, never looked back ;)

Some Tour bags, certainly the ones from a while back, were obviously designed to be carried by a Caddy....
When you put them on a trolley, some pockets became inaccessible.
I don't know if they've solved that but I'd be going for a purpose designed trolley bag - and a waterproof one to boot!

I thought Titleist had designed a trolley friendly model but I agree. I had a Wilson tour bag about a decade ago and I had to put it on its side to get to some of the pockets. While they do look impressive, I think if they aren't going to sit properly and you have to adjust their position its a false economy to get one

I've got the TM US Open Staff bag and it fits my Motocaddy perfectly. Difficult to access some of the back pockets where it's sat against the frame of the trolley but the front pockets are so big the only thing I keep in the back is the club cover and it's a pretty quick job to get it out if needed. I love mine.

I use a Mizuno Tour bag on my Motocaddy elec trolley .

ive attached a couple of photos showing how its sitting on it. A couple of the bottom pockets are harder to get to but not impossible.

main reason to buy a tour bag over a trolley bag is that they dont have ridiculous 14 way club dividers.

literally the worst invention in golf ever.

Like others have said you need to consider that some pockets will be difficult to access when a tour bag is on a trolley.

Until recently i used a tour bag on a trolley, but I have changed to a regular trolley bag, I changed because I found the tour bag heavy and tricky to transport.

I deliberately bought a bag with 14 way dividers. What don't you like about them?

Are tour bags not huge? Massive in your boot I'd have thought.

100% agree!

Will soon be looking for a new tour bag. Currently using a stand bag with 6 dividers on a trolley.

Maybe I'm getting old, actually I am getting old, but although I love tour bags they seem to be getting ruddy heavy. I've just switched to a Ping Transverse III cart bag. A lot lighter, and more manageable getting it out of the boot, with very little loss in storage when you consider some tour bags can be difficult to access on a trolley.

They look horrendous. It’s makes it so much harder to put clubs away as it’s so hard to find the small hole in the bag.

Just bloody awful.

But they are ideal for those amongst us who suffer from OCD!
