The geometric centre is on the B6400 between Riddell and Lilliesleaf in the Scottish Borders. The closest golf course is Lilliesleaf which is eleven holes and described as "fun for the less discerning golfer". Dress code is informal (so, no tie) and dogs and children are welcome at all times.

Is there not a ferry, it's only across the water ?. Crazy it takes that long when you see where they are on a map

Carlisle is logical, I threw in Silloth as so many on here like it. Any others in the vicinity?

It's a fair question. Based on the information available, I used the centres of Troon, Leeds and Aberdeen. If the OP would care to furnish me with full addresses (along with bank details, PIN and mothers' maiden names) I will happily recalculate.

A bit biased, but for me, Play Royal Dornoch on first day, stay in Inverness then Castle Stuart and Nairn the next day.

Lanark and Roxburghe, or Silloth and Lanark.

One may have a slightly longer drive there or home, the same with another person.

I havent played Roxburghe, but heard good things, though have played the other two.

Lanark and Silloth also gives you an inland and links option.
