Golf Things That Gladden The Heart

I have been humming and harring about which day to play given the weather forecasts. Changed my booking 3 times but eventually went out today. Rain forecast at 4pm we finished a 3.45 rain came in bang on time forecast.

My Mrs telling me last night that she’d be OK if I went to Chicago end May for the LPGA US Women’s Open…our future son-in-law is caddying for Lottie Woad in it. Now there’s a thought 🤔. Though she had had a few vinos.😘

Driving to take the kids swimming earlier we drove past the golf club

2 teenagers walking up with a bag between them to go the range

Driving back we past them walking back. The other lad was carrying the bag this time

Lovely to see just two mates enjoying life and golf

At work this morning and my line manager said that we could finish at lunchtime today. That meant that I could now play at Broadstone during the afternoon with the rest of our scratch team in readiness for our match there on Sunday. What’s not to like about a freebie at Broadstone 😁. Greens a bit slow due to recent maintenance but the rest of the course is in excellent nick.

Played our 18th today (par 5) into a really strong wind, must've been 20mph straight into.

Drive and a 3w got me around 170y out, back pin with the pro shop left, clubhouse right.

My 7w is usually between 195 and 205, so thought I'd id throw one up in the wind and get it all the way back.

Absolutely nailed the 7w, wind barely touched it, landed on the rockery behind the green, bounced about 60ft high and settled nicely in the plants behind the green. I was so relieved to not hit either a car, the clubhouse or the pro shop.

The pro shop must get hit a few times per week, it's only 10 paces at the back of the 18th green

In a 4BBB match yesterday my partner’s ball very firmly clattered the trolley one of our opponents. We hunted high and low for it…for a couple of minutes…then the other opponent joking suggested looking to see if it was on the trolley it had hit. And sure enough there it was…nestled neatly on the trolley. Must happen occasionally but it’s a first for me.

Following my winning of a driver in the Pro Shop draw I had a fitting booked for this week.
Due to circumstances it's had to be cancelled and rearranging looks unlikely for some time
So I was able to take a couple of demos out today, complete with a few shafts to try on the course - for me a better option as I've never been able to swing a club in a studio like I do on the course..I like to see the flight and can measure distances relative to my current club..
Looks like I might just be becoming a G440 driver player....Oh My🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I was splaying from, places I've not played from before - in a good way....
10.5 head, weight in draw position, Denali Red 6.0 60g shaft....
That'll do.......
