Anyone else use this? I find it really good for recording stats and rounds, nice clean looking site. I dont use the app on the course because i find it a distraction and much prefer the old scorecard and sharpie.

anyone have the £20 pro version of the app? It would be nice to track club lengths i guess but a bit fidgety while you're out there.

I've got the paid version and it's a fantastic app. It's very quick to record scores and stats (fairways, putts, greens) on course as it's a very intuitive user interface. The GPS is very very good aswell, letting you plot distance to any point on the hole. So long as you get the phone out of your pocket on the way up to your ball to get the GPS lock, I don't think it slows play down in the slightest.

really great app for the money, never had any problems with GPS always pretty spot on, and i dont find it to be too distarcting on the course as it only takes a few seconds to record your score etc on each hole.
the only diiference between it and a full on GPS unit is that it will cost you a lot to use Golf Shot if you play abroad, i've recently been to Portugal and it would have been great to use it but the data charges would have been astronomical.

highly recommended though.

Use the free version for stats etc too, it takes seconds on the course so can't really be blamed for slow play! As long as its not your turn and your stood there taping in the details!! I must admit I'm tempted by the full version but don't get any phone signal at ours so wouldn't get the full benefit, but still tempted for £20.

I use the free stats parts of the app and think it's great haven't upgraded to the full gps option due to iPhone complications in comps etc so stick with sgx for this.

I use it to record my scores but do it after the round, no matter how quick it is I can't be doing with it on the course

I just got a text from O2 saying they are changing thier charges for roaming. Max cost £1.99 for data.

I have the full version and the GPS features are excellent. Very easy to use and quiet accurate. Shame the R&A ban them, I'd imagine the pressure from Garmin and friends is probably the reason. If they were legal no one would buy a dedicated GPS. In fact apple could make a killing in the golf market if they released a GPS active ipod touch type unit that could conform to the rules.

due to the r&a I have now purchased a dedicated GPS, I used golfshot before and bought the full version, for the money its awesome if you only play friendly rounds

If the app was a fiver, at a push a tenner, then i would have bought it. But i use the free version for stats tracking and skydroid as the cheaper option for GPS
