Golf Random Irritations

the only black shoes i've ever worn with shorts were the Nike air max with the white sole

full black shoes with white socks looks tragic. One fella at mine wears them sometimes with random coloured socks :ROFLMAO:

That’s the one I have in white. Literally the comfiest golf shoe I’ve ever worn. As per other comments size up in them and you won’t go wrong. Certainly a shoes you won’t regret wearing on the course.
I’m thinking about inventing a croc golf shoe.
I reckon between you and Tashy this time next year I’ll be a millionaire 😂

Why are golfers so judgey, worse than kids.
Changes “golfers” to adults and you’ve nailed it there.

You’re behind the times mate, Crocs brought out golf shoes about 14 years ago. If they still made them I’d absolutely take a punt on them 😂

They ain’t proper crocs unless they got holes like a Swiss cheese.
Think of the money I’ll save as I only need half the material of other brands 😂.

You make them I’ll absolutely trial them for you. I need a new pair I’ve only got 3 pairs on the go at the minute. I’m easy on colour as well, could quite fancy and bright orange or pink pair 😎

Why not go Orange and pink or one of each.
I’m off to the patent office.
I have hit a get rich quick scheme that can’t fail.💰

Played golf yesterday, Walking down the first fairway and we hear a shout of “Fore right” coming from the second tee. But we are down the left hand side, the third fairway runs down the “ right side”. Next thing a ball bounces in front of a PP and hits him on the ankle. After a Second or so we kinda looked at one another and said “ that’s fore left not right”. When we collared them a bit later they said “ two of us shouted Right and one left “ 🫣 couldn’t of affected him that much, he won the front nine.

It’s a military association it governs certain things with how things are run. All rules of golf are in accordance with the R&A. However they operate golf through an official service association as it means golf is then recognised as a service sport, not just a hobby so it has absolute control over whether personnel are released to compete and what they sanction as representative sports comes under their rules and it’s perfectly above board for them to do so within all sports under the governing bodies as to what they can and cannot release personnel for under the “terms of representative sports”.

So to answer your question yes they do have the authority to do that. Just a shame they’ve made the decision they have and it is being appealed but the term “Service need out weighs sporting participation “ stands up under their rules.
Is that for all sport or just golf?

Goes across all sports. They have associations set up under pretty much every sport you can imagine from Football, Rugby, Golf Archery, Fishing, boxing winter sports even E-Sports etc, pretty much if there is a sport that can be done at representative level they have an official association. They then sit under the main governing bodies for sporting rules but are their own entity when it comes to governance on representation and what they can choose to sanction as qualifying criteria for comps.

There is one good thing about my tendency to twist my ankles: I don't have to worry about choosing shoes ! :ROFLMAO:
The Ecco Biom H5 BOA High Top works perfectly, and I haven't twisted my ankle again (yet - knock on wood !). (y)
Unfortunately, it seems Ecco has discontinued the shoe; at any rate, I couldn't find it on their website anymore. But it's obviously still being sold (see link) ! 🤷‍♂️

What’s the reasoning ?
Is it money or lack of personnel.
We hear all the time our forces are stretched.

I never bother wasting valuable seconds trying to figure out if I was on the left or right of the person shouting, I just duck and cover as soon as someone shouts. 😂

It’s neither its politics. We are stretched especially at the moment but we all know of we’re deployed we don’t play in these things part of the job. But this as a well subscribed event and Vets can play in it as well, basically someone has taken an admin decision to not allow administration orders to be be used any more to let people play in these events as representative sport. As a result it changes people’s ability to play, request accommodation and how leave is used to request the time off to play.

It’s a small decision that has a big effect on those who play and cannot commit now to paying to play before leave is approved or denied. Therefore they’re going to lose the course it’s played at and several other issues.

Is there no (formal) way to overturn this decision? An objection, an appeal, or something similar?
If you use "common sense" as a guide, the decision, as it stands, certainly sounds wrong ! 😤
And I’ve learned: "Ask yourself, 'What would my grandma say?', and then look up the relevant regulations—Grandma is always right!" (y)
Good luck—I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you ! 🤞
