I used to have a similar problem and found it was due to trying to hit the ball too hard. In my head, it was a club that makes the ball go further, therefore needs to be whacked really hard. When I make my usual easy swing, the ball goes where it should, and a reasonable distance.

I wish this was the issue for me, I have a very lazy tempo and don’t try to hit the ball hard with any club. I’m more of a let the ball get in the way type swinger. Yet a hybrid goes further left than a Corbin speech.

The Scottish Open will now only be at the Renaissance Club until 2030, an absolute travesty in my opinion, we have loads of World class courses were it can be held, I’m taking nothing away from the course, I just think it should go to different courses around Scotland.

I agree, that is a shame. It's a bit dull as a course as well. I've been to it twice, no real urge to go back. Moving it around would be much more interesting from a spectator persepective.

And everyone is telling me what a great club the Cobra F8 Hybrid #4 is … !
But my ordinary i4 is (more often than not) flying better than ever !

I'm not a technical person but if you are topping it I think that means you are hitting the ball on the way up. You need contact to be further back in your swing arc. Whether that is at a neutral point or on the down angle still ....... personal preference I think.

I had the F8, no matter what I did with it, it just hooked! Ultimately though it’s not the clubs fault, I think hybrid are great but they’re just not for me. Maybe I’ll find one at some point that doesn’t hook, it’s just a confidence thing for me.

Topping it though that’s absolutely not the club that be one of a few things or a combination of many, poor ball position, early extension, poor weight transfer and many others. Though it’s usually a combination of both!
