Golf Random Irritations

My memory is hazy now but I believe we were told that both teams would go out if match not arranged. Or perhaps we just wanted to do everything in our power to actually play rather than go through that way. Or a combination of both.

If they can't play any weekends at all then that clearly makes it a lot more difficult to arrange matches. It would be the assumption that most people work on weekdays. Regardless, people have to meet in the middle somewhere and get matches played, obviously. But yeah, equally bored of this now.
You defend your point away my friend but if the club allows entries your issue is not with them but with the rules of the competition itself. They’re entitled to enter and if “you” can’t play anymore weekdays you’re equally inflexible.

That’s not a dig at you just highlighting that this is the issue with club knockouts in general and isn’t aimed at you. But just like slow play it’s always the other persons fault never our own. On that note I’ve got to drive back to work so I’m literally going to play with traffic 😂

My favourite was the one I touched upon earlier - as soon as the draw was announced we agreed a date to play, it was on the last Saturday before the deadline (a month in advance), but all four of us were happy to play then. Then a day before the match one of them said "Oh is it Saturday? I thought we booked it for Sunday, I can't make the Saturday." His partner couldn't do the Sunday. That was the one where I had to change my work from home day at the last minute so I could get down at 5pm on Monday night to play it and we lost. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve had that last day stunt pulled a few times. My response is “we agreed the date, are you conceding?”

Adidas. They've released far too many things that I'd like. Now I'm trying to pick and choose and do a bit of man-maths to justify. Grrrrr.

Do we really think most people work a Monday to Friday 9 - 5 job in this day and age…
Weekends at my place, you would struggle to get a tee time until late afternoon / early evening for a match play game.
Everyone has there own situation, both players should be flexible for midweek or weekends, really shouldn’t be that difficult.

I remember offering 15 times and dates to a lady in our club singles knockout. None were suitable for her. She didn't work either like I did. Told her in the end that if she was that awkward she could have the match. In the end she agreed a date and I beat her!
