Golf Random Irritations

I repaired this with cable ties - lasted about 9 holes today. Then the cable ties snapped while I was walking and the entire weight of the bag landed on my outstretched Achilles heel. Ouch! 😡

New bag needed then. 😞
Where abouts is it snapped is it just the strap or where the strap meets the bag. Could a new strap simply do the job, or take it to a tailor’s and ask for a military stitch to attach the strap to the bag. If they can stitch a bag of carry 60kg of kit they can do a golf bag.

Or alternatively don’t be tight and treat yourself to a new bag 😂

Erm, it's like the plastic buckle that the strap was attached to that snapped clean through. March is an expensive month for me (two x mothers day plus both of their birthdays, annoyingly) so not the ideal time to need a new bag. But I did have that bag four years and loved it.

Edit: Then again we're probably just out of carrying weather so maybe I can just use it on the trolley now going forward. 😁

But new buckles, take it to the tailors job done and bag sorted for under £20, literally had this exact thing done for my Bergen before I went back out to Norway.

Just to clarify, IG support individual bogey comps, but not four-ball bogey.
STILL?
I was IT support at my previous club and asked about this over 5 years ago. Their response was "we support all the popular formats", to which I replied "you claim to be the best, so don't you think you should support ALL valid formats?"
Never heard back from them. So thankful I have nothing to do with them at my current club.

I know it’s not how this thread works in general but some more explaining may be needed here!
Format Combination: Commonly, players play stroke play (net medal) for the first nine holes and Stableford for the back nine.

Scoring Structure: On the first nine holes, you record your net score (shots taken minus handicap allowance). On the back nine, you score points based on your net score relative to par (e.g., net birdie=3, net par=2, net bogey=1).

Final Result: The player’s Stableford point total is subtracted from their net stroke play score. Therefore, lower scores win.
Example/Scenario: If a player scores 36 (net) on the front nine (Medal) and 18 points on the back nine (Stableford), their final score is 36−18=18.

No Google did ! I copied and pasted its explanation. In all my years playing golf I’ve never heard of or played a Medalford. Having now googled it I can’t see the point of it or how it’s remotely interesting as a comp changing formats halfway through a round 🤷🏼
Yeah that sounds like a daft gimmick that nobody would be interested in really.

Imagine you tees off in the back 9 firsts and that was the Stableford 9, so you had to play it the other way round. You make a hash of your 10th hole (the actual 2nd hole). You think well I’ve balls that up and pick it up as you’ve got int playing Stableford then realising wait I’m now playing medal 😂

Maybe I’m boring but I’m not a fan of there’s weird formats that change midway through a round.

Shotgun start would be better
