Catching up to a corporate 4 ball who had taken 3 hours for 9 holes, we then waited for 15 mins while stood on the 10th Tee box while they finally let the group in front of ours through. Then given the bar was in such close proximity we gave up on the golf and had a beer.

Just when I’m getting things a bit sorted he wants me to basically forget everything I know about hitting a ball and work with him developing his new approach. I suppose I will…after all I get it for nowt and he’s convinced he’s on to something. We’ll see…

A bit…we already do a form of this…in that he has me walking up to the ball from behind direction of play and without, or barely, pausing to take a stance and address the ball - or even check where the ball is in stance, I swing the club and hit the ball.

Hitting a good drive into the area that you'd expect to distance-wise, and then the rough just being tall/thick enough that the ball just vanishes so you're dropping four

It’s already that time of year.
Our second cut has a history of being brutal, but generally not until this time next month. Already it is shin to knee high in many places, but with the added “bonus” of being ludicrously thick. If you stray into it, reload.
I fear it’s already too far gone for the greenkeeping staff to do anything to counter it, so a long summer awaits. Time to send the driver on holiday and revert to hitting 2-iron from the tee.

I've lost 3 or 4 in 18 holes like this and I saw it happen to someone else as well. It's madness, the grass is just so thick and lush that they just get gobbled up
