At every course I've ever been at the most you can play is a four-ball.I play a five ball on a regular occasion, normally we are held up by a four ball.

I don't see us getting away with that at 8am on a Sunday. Maybe if we were last out in the afternoon. In our competitions if there is the odd person at the end, then they just join on and play as a 5 ball.......
have played in a 6 ball and no problem, just play ready golf, two putt out and go and tee off while the others putt out.
The Pro was one of the 6
2 ball out first, 3 follow. Slowest two go out in the 2 ball. Job doneI don't see us getting away with that at 8am on a Sunday. Maybe if we were last out in the afternoon.
Yeah it will be a 2 & 3, it's just a shame when you can't all play together. We had a 4 all set and then a mate who hardly plays much now piped up, so we didn't want him to miss out.2 ball out first, 3 follow. Slowest two go out in the 2 ball. Job done![]()
We have had that on trips away. That's even worse becasue it messes room numbers up as well as playing groups. Either be a 4 or a 6, 5 is the worst option.Yeah it will be a 2 & 3, it's just a shame when you can't all play together. Like I said last group out....I don't see us getting away with that at 8am on a Sunday. Maybe if we were last out in the afternoon.
We went to variable divisions years ago to avoid such a situation.102 entries in the Stableford today.
60 in Div 1 - up to 12
26 in Div 2 - 13 to 18
16 in Div 3 - 19 +...

As did weWe went to variable divisions years ago to avoid such a situation.
It is a very easy thing to do in this computer age.
Same at our's but if only five turn up for the morning swindle in winter then we play a five ball, only people on the course, nobody knows and no harm done.At every course I've ever been at the most you can play is a four-ball.
When I was a member at your course, there were 5 of us wanting the play, and the course was COMPLETELY EMPTY.At every course I've ever been at the most you can play is a four-ball.
Looking at the results page it shows Div1 are playing for nearly twice the prize as the other divisions...We went to variable divisions years ago to avoid such a situation.

I am same with my aiming. My constant battle with ball positionhonestly ridiculous how sloppy I can get with setup
Just an update on the incident that occurred Saturday. I’ve been contacted by the club, must say very professional and welcoming response from them. I won’t go into the full ins and outs of the email but will SummariseGood for you for not tolerating this. I’d absolutely follow up with something in writing to the club and expect a response so it can’t be swept under the carpet, as it may with no written record. As someone who plays golf with his daughter I’m naturally a little protective so anything that culls anyone making unacceptable and overtly sexual and sexist comments like these from the golf course and makes clear they are not welcome, I’m all in favour.
Fair play to the club that is excellent.Just an update on the incident that occurred Saturday. I’ve been contacted by the club, must say very professional and welcoming response from them. I won’t go into the full ins and outs of the email but will Summarise
The idiots (I won’t call them men as that’s to polite). Turns out only one of them was actually a member but the others had applied to join and were nominated by the member in their group. Short of it is, the club have rejected their application to join as their behaviour isn’t in line with what is expected of members and the member of the club is being suspended pending a decision by the club committee.
We’ve been invited back to play on a 2-for-1 deal at a time of our choosing and offered a discounted meal. The email was polite, professional and conveyed genuine concern. It’s a satisfactory outcome we weren’t after any freebies just for the people concerned to be dealt with. I’ve emailed back thanking them and agreed to keep their name off SM as a thank you for promptly and professionally dealing with it. Hopefully can convince Mrs M to go back there as the course was lovely.
Agreed that’s all we wanted was for it to be addressed so it doesn’t happen again. The offer of discount 2-4-1 is a nice touch to show we’re welcome back.Fair play to the club that is excellent.
Things do happen and it’s how you respond that people remember, they have acted quickly and effectively to your complaint and that is all can be asked from them.
No club can control their members behaviour at all times and it's greatly to their credit that they have dealt with it so well. I sincerely hope your wife isn't put off golf by the incident , it sounds like she was doing so well earlier . Well done on following it up with the club.Just an update on the incident that occurred Saturday. I’ve been contacted by the club, must say very professional and welcoming response from them.
