Golf plans today

dont you need to change your sig?

No, the jury is out. I gave the JPX its first run out on the course today but I'm wrestling with my swing so not fair on it....

I did knock one out to 264 yards...... But hit my trusty X2 Hot 275 yards on the same hole..... (Wind assisted, btw!)

I'm trying to adjust to my grip and swing changes so had a wee range session before playing 15 holes solo, hitting lots of balls.

Finding it difficult and a bit dispiriting at times but, when I do get it right, I'm hitting some shots that were simply beyond me before.... So it seems worthwhile persevering....

Stick with it. Been working on my impact position and hit one in the lesson and it's now known as my "Jesus" shot as I exclaimed that as I hit it - what a beauty it was. I get it, lose it, get it and lose it again but know it's in there so worth working for.

Hockey lunch was a blast and an on pitch reunion planned for 7th Feb - it could be carnage so ibuprofen, neoprene and ice packs on order!

Good day in the Xmas swindle - had a level gross round to win :D

Pretty disappointing 23 points in our 14 hole comp but I was pleased with the way I hit the ball in the strong wind. The greens are a nightmare with lots of holes where the diseased areas have been treated.

Had a knock with my old man today.

Struck the ball really well, but didn't seem like I was playing overly well. Chipped and putted superbly though.

Only managed 16 holes due to slow group clogging the course, but a birdie, birdie finish was good enough for me,

Totalled up after and was +5 gross for the 16 holes played.

Just goes to show that the short game is the way to make a score.

Had a great morning with Birchy and NWJ up at Bolton gc, course and greens were in great nick despite all the rain we had overnight. Modesty forbids me telling you all who took the spoils

I decided not to bother so met HID after he'd finished and had lunch there instead. Very nice too it was and wore my smart jeans as the dress code has been relaxed.

Great day at the heath of dreams. 35 points including two annoying blob holes with no score. Should have had the second place money but Hawkeye's heroics deprived me so cruelly. Might be playing in the big Sunday roll up but the lure of a long lie in seems tempting

Played in our Winter fourball comp today - 16 points out into the teeth of the wind, and then 24 points on the way back. 4 three pointers on the trot from yours truly helped. Still only 2nd place overall but a pleasing recovery nonetheless, just about covered the pint of beer and coffee with my enormous winnings.

Apart from the 25mph wind the weather was glorious, clear blue skies and fantastic sea views. Wrap up warm and there is no place better to be.

Winter stableford today 33 points with an amzing 6x3 putts. Wind was tricky on the back 9

Just a social game this morning, nothing special performance wise. Irons still solid, driving average, putting woeful!! I actually 3 putted from 2 feet twice!! Gone from coming up short to running everything too far past the hole!

Definitely. I was despondent after about 7 holes when I was hacking it around but got it together a few holes later. On my last hole I was waved through by the guys in front and I nailed the drive way past where they were, hit a glorious nine iron straight over the pin and holed the six footer for birdie. Nice way to finish, and with an audience! The changes offer a lot (had 3 birdies in 15 holes in amongst some real dross) I just need to trust them and hopefully consistency will return!

Played at Sutton Hall near Frodsham for the first time today. Wasn't sure what to expect from this farmland/parkland course at this time of the year but was pleasantly surprised at how dry it was. The course must drain really well as I can't remember seeing any standing water on the course other than in the hazards. The greens were soft and a bit lumpy but are in damn site better nick than my own course.

Had a great day today at your place Chellie. Iain was of course undefeatable in his home fortress but we all had decent rounds. The course and greens were fantastic and amazingly very dry.

Very pleasant knock today with richart, paperboy and murph round Hayling. Even better when me and murph won the money :D
