Golf - Olympics - Who Wins?

Think it's pretty soon as he's on the practice green with Henrik.

As an aside, and I haven't read from the start of the thread so please excuse if this is covered earlier, are they just playing for the medals or is there some appearance / prize money?

I'd love to think they're playing for vouchers from the Pro Shop and that they've all put their 2quid in for the 2s pot. :D

No money but there are world ranking points. Think the gold medal winner gets a place in all majors next year as well.
 
Just tuned in. Nice to see some live golf on bbc. Shame the likes of rory etc used Zika as a lame excuse not to play. Looks quite an easy course for the pros.

Youve got to think that money is the real reason golfs multi millionaires didnt turn up,watching these guys play they so want to win this,good on them :clap:
 
Just tuned in to the golf and now it's interesting and worth watching. Two of world's top players head-to-head - effectively matchplay - for the gold and silver. And a raft of top players going for bronze. But will anyone be able to break from the pack if either of the leaders falters?

Commentary is dull - telling us no more than we are seeing and stating the obvious e.g. Rose chips dead length but 6ft left of hole. Commentator tells it would have been better if it was straighter. Really? Anyway - doesn't take away from an excellently watchable Gold/Silver/Bronze medal battle.
 
Assuming Rose and Stenson will battle out for gold and silver will there be a play-off if more than one player finishes third? Or are they all awarded bronze?
 
Playoffs for ties for any medal - over 3 or 4 holes I think.
Top 15 in World Rankings qualified automatically, then up to 2 others if you haven't already got 2 qualified up to 4 players total....
So if, say, Westwood was in the top 15 we'd have had 3 playing....
 
How many times must these numpties in the crowd be told to stop taking photos when players about to play?

They're even more irritating and gormless than the "get in the hole!" 24 carat plonkers.
 
1 to play and top 2 are tied. It's been excellent and 1 to stick to the naysayers
