Golf near Hamilton

Going up to Scotland tomorrow for a weeks golf. Staying just a few miles east of Ayr so generally playing courses near the coast. But on Thursday, going to the evening races at Hamilton Park. Can anyone suggest a decent track thats within, say, 20-30 mins of the racecourse? (Don't want too much of a rush getting from one to the other)

Ps: I'm aware there is a golf course right next door to the racecourse

I believe Hamilton itself is a decent course but not one I've played myself. Good options include Lanark, Cathkin braes, bothwell castle.

Strathaven probably flips a coin with Lanark for being the top course in Lanarkshire so worth considering.

5 minute drive
Bothwell castle
Hamilton
Bellshill

20 minute drive
Dullatur
Shotts

Have a look at he websites and decide which you fancy
