As the subject says, have you got any golf insurance? If yes who did you buy from?

Reason I ask is that I'm looking to get some insurance this year, a couple of close calls last year where I sliced and had the ball bounced on a public road has made my mind up that year, tis best to be safe than skint.

The Golf Care insurace promoted by Bernard Gallacher seems okay and reasonable, The Golfers Club pretty much matches Golf Care and E and L come in the cheapest but with lower liability and personal cover etc...

Or do you not bother with insurance?

If everyone on here were sensible, then 50 of us would get together and approach an insurer for a group policy. I guarantee we'd get it for half price.

Was with the Golfers Club but have gone to E&L. Did a lot of shopping around and felt they offered the best simple cover - I don't need vouchers and 3 rubbish balls to bribe me, just cover to protect me if god forbid I do some damage. Or get a hole in one!

Golf Care... I like their 24 hour cover, silly as it sounds on virtually every policy they don't cover for certain periods of the day and/or location. For something like an extra fiver your clubs are covered all day and anywhere, which suits me as mine can be anywhere, club locker, garage or boot of car. Their total cover for replacement ain't great but will get me new clubs and of course the personal liability cover but you could get that on a home policy I guess...

Nah not bothered with insurance, if I hack a ball and it hits someone or something I just point to the fact the ball says "Dave" on it and my name infact is not Dave so it's not my ball.

If you were unlucky enough to hit a ball onto a road and hit a car which then crashes then thats just bad luck and I would blame mother nature then encourage the driver to say a local council van in front kicked up a stone off their badly maintained roads onto his widshield.

Good luck with that!

Lol. And plan B is?

Was with golfcare but I'll be looking for a better deal as they are after £39 for the same cover as I can get for £29 elsewhere. As others have said, I'm not bothered about free balls or rounds of golf at places I have to drive hours to get to, I just want the best deal on a decent policy

Got it. Claimed twice. Once for a driver I snapped when a buggy turned over, and once for a hole in one.

Mainly for 3rd party cover. I'd hate to lose the house because of a negligence claim.

Just had a quote from eandl

Yearly basic cover - £1500 limit on equipment - £23
Monthly basic cover - £2000 limit on equipment - £2.30 a month

You can't go wrong as both have 60 day worldwide cover, golf club locker cover and daytime unattended vehicle cover

Time and time again this issue crops up.Just CANT see how anyone wouldnt sensibly want golf insurance,it just to risky without.

I'm with Golfcare again and they came through with flying colours after I claimed my Hole In One 'bill'...£180 back off them and £130 profit into the bargain.JOB DONE.

Does anyone know if there are any big weasel clauses in their policy?

For instance, do the insurers insist on a handicap....(some of us don't have an official one).
