Morning everyone,

Im going to SF tomorrow on business, and it now looks like I will have some free time during my trip. Any golf courses in the area worth considering?

You will probably need a rental car to get to most of the courses.

Half Moon Bay on the Pacific Coast Highway has 2 courses, both were always in good condition when I played them. Last time I was there, 7 or 8 years ago, it was $150 per round.

Crystal Springs GC, off I280 and is just south of the airport. If you are staying in the airport/San Mateo area, you could possibly use a taxi to get to this one.

There is a course near the Golden Gate bridge called Presidio GC. I did not play it but was told it was worth it if you can get on.

All the other courses I played were well south, San Jose and on down to Monterey. Just south on San Jose is a 27 hole complex called Cinnabar Hills, all 3 loops are very good.

Presidio looked quite good - I went down there on a bus and hit some balls at their range

Others like Pebble, Spyglass will require a rental car to get to. If you stay at the Fairmont they will lend you a set on the latest TAYLORMADE clubs for free
