Hi,

I have just acquired everything I need to replace my own grips..I thought I would give diy a go starting with just my woods for now.

I am torn between the same old golf pride tour velvets and the golf pride BCT full cord. I use the tour velvet types now but think I should get something that performs well in the wet.

I read that the Lamkin cord is also very good.

What do you think? What do you play with?

I use Golf Pride Multi-compound, They were on the secondhand irons I bought a few months back and they have been something of a revelation. They are great in the wet aswell within reason.

I use midsize multi compound red/black on my kit and can't really fault them.

Is there an echo on here? :)

If you want to stand out from the crowd then get the FUNKED grips!!!!They make in different styles and gripps.

I've just done all mine with these grips, loook pretty cool?
So good, that THE CRAW has a free day at fereneze for being the first to go for them!!!

Ping full cords on my irons (Golf Pride)
Lamkin Tour full cord on driver.

I will be changing to Lambkin Tour full cord on all clubs when the Ping grips are due for a change hopefully at the end of the season but more than likely by mid season.

Full cord on the irons and Tour Velvet on the rest.

I'm not particularly hard on grips, I never seem to wear them out. I know they should be changed every year but it seems a shame when there's so much life left in them.

Lambkin crossline corded for me. Right good grip in the wet - and if you use a wet weather glove as well, you can barely let go of the blasted things - even if you're trying to put them back in the bag.

Golf pride V55 full cord on my irons and wedges, very good grips if not a little hard feeling on cold mornings compared to the multi compounds i had before.

Multi compound in white on the woods

Irons - Lambkin Crossline Tour Full Cord
Woods - Lambkin Crossline Full Cord
Wedges - Lambkin Crossline Full Cord - Red (Soft)

Best grips ever, really wouldn't consider anything else.

I like tour velvets as well, multi-compounds are ok but I've never liked corded or part corded grips.

A lot of people look past Winn but I think their top spec grips are excellent too.

Tour velvets at present though a change to Sharpro multi compounds in Mizuno blue for the new season is in the pipeline.

I have regrpped some of my own clubs for a while now. Usually the driver, woods and putter but last year I regripped an old set of irons just as a wee test. What a difference the new grips made. I then regripped my current set using Sharpo multi compounds. The result is a set that feels good to use once again.

There is debate as to the lifespan of the Sharpro grips, but at the cost, I certainly don't mind spending an evening stripping and cleaning and regripping once a year if necessary.

I've sourced my grips and tape from Gamola, good service and good prices.
