WOW, I knew a short break would have a little effect but I wasn't expecting to go back to square one. My break was down to minor 2 week injury (fully recovered) followed by a DIY project.
I'm a high handicapper (was coming down nicely) but am always ready for 36 holes of golf and can steadily knock a few pars together. Today was a shocker as I was knackered after 12 holes and my swing went to pieces and if it wasn't for my putting I would have knocked up a HUGE score.
First nine I hit 5 pars which was a first for me and put this down to the break getting rid of any swing thoughts and I just went back to basics. Second nine went bogey, par, bogey and this is when the swing went. My arms were stiff and my back tight and in the end I resorted to hitting nothing more than a 6 iron with a mid-swing.
Has anyone else noticed this before? I'm hoping no-one has this year and that your all well into a successful season of injury free golf.
