Golf course recommendations, between Soton, Winchester and Bournemouth

I'd be suprised if you didnt get a good deal.

Well I hope you are sitting down. They don't take visitor bookings at the weekend over the winter until after 2 (which is pointless as you'll never finish in time). Random policy, but there you go. I guess it ensures members always get on rather than missing out due to visitors playing instead.

Meyrick Park is Playable and the dog walkers , worst at Queens Park , you can book in to stay in the Lodge there , its a putt away from the 1st tee and you can walk down the road to town in the evening , Barton On Sea is good and it be dry with views across to the IOW , Romsey is nice but it be very wet as is Bramshaw , Royal Winchester is good too . Test Valley is always dry and be good for this time of the year

i would shout test valley too, think its chalk based where they are. I played there a couple of winters ago and it was great. Someone mentioned Weybrook too, thats probably a bit far but a good shout, nice course! BTathome is a member there.

Played Meryrick a couple of times as I went to Uni in Bmouth and still have friends down there. We are looking for something more central though, hence looking around Winchester.

No mention yet for Corhampton, another chalk based course that plays well all year round. Not played it myself so can't comment on quality but believe it is supposed to be a decent test.

Got some good deals on just now

Played Paultons yesterday (wont tell you my score!). All greens open, 9 tee mats. Not the best course in the area, but if the wind gets up it can be pretty tough.

Botley Park near me is not a bad lay out. May be a bit soft at the moment but generally is one of the better draining courses in the area.

If it is me it has to be Barton On Sea or Test valley as they both payable and a good test with light rough , others are good but its the condition , Corhampton I have played , its ok but i would not rust back , won a 4 ball voucher as a prize at a proam , raffle prize it was .
