Right I was wondering, what proportion of regular club members play the game purely for leisure and recreation and to be social, compared to those who play purely for competition.
It seems that the majority of members at my club seem so competition orientated that they forget their social skills. I admit that for some people being quiet and getting their head down is how they focus and perform best but surely being completely unsocial during a round isn't enjoyable ??
For me competition golf is the main attraction however it drives me mad when you get some guy in your group who thinks he is the next tiger and ignores you for the whole round.
Opinions?
Also what is more satisfying draining a 30ft putt or smashing a drive dead straight down the fairway ?
