Golf club lust

...If i had the money I would buy some Vega Wedges as someone here hs previously stated. One of the guys at my club has an old set and they are rusty as an old p*sscan and look incredible. Just gonna have to be satisfied with Cleveland RTX 2.0s with my budget at the moment.

There's a better value way (imo) to acquire a pair of 'Vega' wedges if you really want to do so. And they'll even be tailor-made/fitted for you by an ex-Cleveland Tour Van guy, along with a analysis of your technique! And something like a year's 'refurbishing' built in to the cost! All for some time and mileage and a similar (or maybe even cheaper) cost as a pair of RTX 2.0s!

It's a wonderful experience and, in fact, while it's always better to play well than poorly, the quality of golf is quite low on the priority list of such experiences imo!

You are absolutely right Foxy.......I can think of nothing better than spending £315.00 to oink it round two lovely courses in over 200 shots and come up the 36th hole walking like Douglas Bader.
That would be absolutely awesome and I can see how the experience would deter me from throwing my bag, clubs and trolley into the lake as I drove out of said establishment.

You obviously need to go there! Even just to realise that there's no lake on the way out! Not even on the course next door -Sunningdale Ladies, well worth a round or 2 (it's a 'Day Ticket' and quite short, so 2 rounds is easy) on the same lovely sort of turf as its hugely more illustrious neighbour!

PS1. Throw 'Tracy' my way!
PS2. If 'Cost' is a real consideration, it might actually end up saving you money overall too :D!

Ive bought from Tourspecgolf, a Geotech Driver and Hybrid and the new Nippon Modus3 105 shafts. All good prices and quality. There is some quality stuff there and different to.

At the moment I like my Wishon 575mmc (see profile pic) that I built for myself, but I'm also gullible and got an obnoxiously priced putter in my bag that a putter launch monitor says that I'm rolling the ball better then I did with my old one......

I have the 727v with ns pro 120 in x flex, just in boring chrome though :)

If money was no object, it'd be PXG irons all the way for me. Played with a guy a few weeks back who had them and they're beautiful in person. Would love a set.

I tested them when I got my current irons and they were not for me but PXG are making a lot of noise and quickly finding a niche it the market at that price point.

I am aware they have had a few quality control issues as they are made in China and its tough for a US company to keep tabs on that. I have herd of a few irons arriving not filled with the ellastomer(sp?) but that PXG have been very quick in making that right for those customers.

Fantastic putters can putt well with a stick of rhubarb. The cost of their putter has no bearing on their skill level.

Im not saying that it is, but would Ian Bell use a £10 bat from Sports Direct or a £400 bat from Kookabura, Its not going to make him a better player but if its what he likes its going to fill him with confidence. Ive just swapped a £220 putter for a £150 one, i prefer it and im putting remarkably better, no changes in stroke or grip or anything, im just more confident that im gonna drop puts with it. Thast why people will spend good money on a product and thats why its worth it to some people

p.s would love to see someone try and roll a 25 footer with a piece of rhubarb. Cant see that going too well.

I am sure Geoffrey Boycott would be able to as he can hit most cricket deliveries with a stick of rhubarb
