It's that time of year when I do my budgeting so I thought I'd better take the golf into account for once!

So I've created a wee spreadsheet which I certainly found of interest and which may help other forumers do likewise.

Here's a screenshot. Can anyone think of anything I've missed? I've just bought some new irons and a putter at the end of last year and don't really need any new golf clothing.

The items marked in green are my variables and I've tried to keep costs to around £100 per month (it's my only pastime for God's sake woman!) I'm thinking I may need more balls though.

:p

i have no idea what i spend at all. i just pay it as i go along.i imagine it will be around the same amount as you that im spending though.

If I did something like that and the wife found it I'd be singing a well known Dolly Parton song just now and I'm not talking about a duet with Kenny Rodgers!!!!!

I genuinely don't want to even think about what I spend!

forgive me John, I may be being dense, but your spend on KA seems way ott.

£535.00 pa gold membership
£30.00 club subs
£565.00

you've got £800.00 there, am I missing something?

J_F I notice you have made no allocation for refreshments and other expenses, especially noticeable on the organised golfing trips. Unless you intend for everyone to buy you the drinks, this could be a significant outlay over the year.

I'm on the cheapy Silver 2 membership which only costs £80 per year but that means that the pay and play price comes down to £12 for the weekday rounds, the weekend rounds are £20. Much cheaper for the amount I plan to play this year. Hence my figure of £400 total for 26 rounds (once a fortnight) instead of £565 for unlimited, which I'd never get the benefit of.

Eh, and drinks (and a little food) account for £200 of the Nairn Trip cost shown as I've already paid most of the golf & accommodation already. The Goswick trip is usually only 1 night and I've budgeted for drinkies. Good point, well made, though.

:D

I kept track of all my golf expenses last year and totalled it up at the end of the year. Scared the hell out of me.

I won't be doing that again !!

Ignorance is bliss :D

This year it'll be whatever I can afford at the time. Fees are due in March and I've scrimped and saved throughout 2010 and I'm just about there. Still hot a joint chrimbo present from my mum/inlaws tucked away so might look at the new TM Burner woods or the new TM irons. Everything else has to be saved hard for at the moment and even my golf shoe budget is zero

golf fees april 2010-2011 £451
society golf £225
social golf approx £150
gloves £15
shoes £50
balls £120
competitions £60
sunday fiddle £45
clothes £200
drinks £200
2fore1 vouchers £30

OMG

I make that over £1500

this year 2011-2012, I won't be spending much on clothing, I'm losing less balls so that should drop by half.
I'm guessing this years cost will be around £1000
