GoKart Electric Trolley

First time out with the GoKart today. Only thing that irritated me was how front heavy it is. You really have to push down on the handle to get the front wheel up to turn around....hope the plastic is strong enough to put up with the strain. Other than that....a real relief not to have to deal with the Motocaddy control knob.
Watch out for traversing side hills. The trolley will turn towards the slope. To stop this, lift the front end up, luckily this is easy, and the trolleys will then plow on straight

Does your bag have a slot on the base? Check it, it might have. Mine does, it's a motocaddy bag, and it slots onto the bottom of the trolley so that it won't turn. It's not a perfect fit, but it doesn't need to be. It's good enough and mine doesn't twist at all.

I can take pictures if needs be.
A slot ?

My bag doesn't have anything to stop twisting (Ping). The first model of GoKart has a pointy shaped bottom piece, not the newer model. I'll just have to rig something up with the strap.....yesterday when I moved the buckle out towards the end of the strap....the strap just slipped through. I had taken the strap and tried wrapping it around a handle on the bag.....something like a safety pin would stop the strap from sliding through the buckle.

Still deliberating here.

The PK CT8 has just entered the frame, yes it's almost double the price but looks very sleak and PK claiming when folded down it's the smallest currently in the market.

Decisions, decisions.

You have perhaps decided that the GoKart isn't for you - it's a bit quirky and so not liked by many in case it isn't an acceptable item to own.

As an early owner of one, a few members of my club stuck their nose up at my choice.

I'm still using mine for the last 15 years (with upgrades) whilst my mates have spent way more buying new trollies every 3 or so years.

Just buy what you want to have carrying your golf bag around.

I'll just keep mine going for now.

Less? than a month with the GoKart. I'm used to the heavier front end now. Certainly like the manual control better than the motocaddy. The only thing that still gets up my nose is that scorecard holder. Worthless for me and I don't bother with it anymore and I stick the card/pencil in a bag pocket. At the course nearest me I had to tear the ends and the sides off the card so that it would even fit in the holder. Not much of any accessories for the GK so nothing really to buy that would fit around the handle. Probably going to try to find a velcro bag online somewhere that will fit either on top or under the handle.

@Mandofred I agree with the scorecard holder. I had the same issue yesterday and ended up putting it in my back pocket. A minor inconvenience though and the other advantages far outweigh this irritation.

I've never used the scorecard holder in previous push trollies so it's not been an issue for me. Just stick it in a side pocket in my bag. I have a stewart golf cooler bag that attaches with velcro straps. Not sure if they still do that model though. I think golf stream do one.

We have had two of these (well CT6) with 36 hole batteries for the past 6 years or so. Excellent pieces of kit. Sturdy, easy to put up and down, simple light batteries that just click in and they fold down ridiculously small so that we can put two trolleys and two bags in the not large boot of a Toyota CHR. A lot of my playing partners have opted for these when changing.

Every time I've used a scorecard I've used the holder. Never had one that didn't fit. I'm struggling to perceive how it could be a problem. Aren't they pretty much a standard size?

Nope.

Some scorecards are just chunkier and don't fit. Usually the ones that fold in half rather than have 3 parts

I had a CT6 for a few years until the power switch failed. It's a great trolley, and the size is ridiculously compact when folded.
No brainer to replace it, but i chose the CT10, which has 40,000 stored green view GPS maps, and up to 10 full course, hole by hole, with hazard view can be uploaded.
Stupidly, expensive, but as I hate wearing a watch for golf, and play other courses, plus many courses no longer do strokesavers, its proved very handy.

I was attempting to use the scorecard holder again today....with a little bit of success. But....before I start (Oakdale scorecard) I have to tear the ends AND one side off so that it will fit inside the plastic area. It is a single fold card (half). I need to get a larger pencil as well....tend to use smaller pencils, but because the area where the scorecard goes is sunk down lower than the edges......makes it hard to use. Maybe with a LONG pencil it will be easier. Just a bad design in "my" opinion.

Aha! I always remove the scorecard from the holder to write on it. Maybe that's why I haven't encountered an issue. I'm quite tall so it's never occurred to me to write with the card in situ as I'd have to stoop.
