I'm not in the market for GPS but I got sent and email from Amazon of all places advertising a Go Planet MARS 200 GPS unit for around £80...
The unit looks quite good actually and the screen quite clear, had anyone had any experience of these?

As I say, I'm not looking for a GPS but was just curious due to the difference in price between these and, say, a Garmin or Skycaddie.

That and it's my mate's 30th mid April so if these are good I might just have solved the "what do I get" conundrum :D lol

Just had a little look at it on amazon, it's down from £149.99. Couple reviews saying its great for a basic front middle back GPS, also gives distance the ball was hit. Might purchase this myself...

I have the Mars 100 (I presume this is just a newer model?). Have had it 2 years now and it works a treat, never had any bother on it. If your only wanting distances to the green (front, middle and back) then its ideal. Not sure if they have changed the pricing but it was $9.99 for a lifetime membership and then $1.99 for each course download - you pay for these with Paypal. Think mine holds around 80 courses so unless your playing on tour you should never fill it up. Also rather than downloading each course if you know someone who has already got it you can just copy it from them, make a slight alteration to the code and it works fine ;).

I seem to remember someone else on this forum has one also - I cant remember his name but for some reason the colour Orange springs to mind
