Need a new battery and trying to get feedback as wether to get a 36 hole battery or go for a lithium one.
My present one only does about 13holes now and is 2 years old.
I m a bit disappointed with its performance as I carry for about 6 months of the year, through the winter months.
Any input would be welcome,I play at least 50 holes per week.
Thanks

My gokart battery died last year after about forty odd months of use. I just bought a new battery from batteries on the Web and put it in the gokart cradle myself. Jobs a goodun and saved quite a few quid over the official gokart version.

Mine is about 3yrs old, its a 18 hole battery, still does 18 holes easily.

Sometimes I forget to charge it and can get another 9 holes from it.

I think you've been unlucky tbh.

Same as, bought a yuasa battery on ebay 2 years ago for about £35 delivered and still going strong, will do nearly 36 holes.

Contact GK. Not sure what the warrant on the battery is (probably only a year). I use a trolly all the time and the lead acid is perfectly usable for my needs so I wouldn't say there's a need to spend the extra on a lithium version

Contact GoKart and explain your problem , they may cut you a deal . I bought a GoKart auto from them intending to use my own Lithium battery, but initially i had problems getting it to fit into their cradle. [ it fits now].

I contacted them and they sold me a 18 hole battery and cradle for £ 35 , maybe ? because i had just bought a new trolley from them.

Worth a call they're a very helpful bunch .

My battery started giving up after 15 months and was only managing 11 holes, mostly used during winter months and always looked after. I spoke with GK but no offers on the table which kinda annoyed me after everyone mentioned how great they were. I appreciate that the life span of a battery can be very different from one to the next but thought this was a bit poor .... Mine is now in the shed and have bought a 2nd hand Motocaddy S3, might have cut off my nose a bit but was rather peeved at the time !!!

Thanks for all the input.
I will probably forgo the lithium option and try lead acid again.
Like to use my Pro for stuff but in this instance will best go on line I think.
Cheers

With batteries the charging regime is the most important part. When not in use if the battery is on charge then it'll probably last quite a while. On the other hand if you often forget to charge and leave it in the car until the following week, and then maybe leave it a couple of weeks before recharging then your likely to lose performance.

I've tended to find that people that are strict with their charging get the most from them.

.... on the other hand my GoKart sounds dreadful at the moment, and just out of warranty means I will have to stump up the full amount for repair, or service.
