Re: GM Irish Craic Classic 2011

It really is a must play and can't believe it took me until I was 34 years of age to play there considering it is less than two hours from home.

You forget the school years big man? :D All round me (1hr drive) there is about 7 - 8 fantastic links course and most are not stupid money either.

Would be good to do it again soon enough although can we get somewhere with good guinness this time.....

Your right, that stuff must be a bad batch, made me play like a right tit for 2 days!

Champion couple of nights. From the blind date moment on Friday night when you tentatively introduced yourself to the end it was a belter.....that taxi driver will forever live in my memory!

If he tells me aboot soda bread once more I'll chin him but we are planning a trip back over to see him for a weekend solely for a soda bread experience,oh and maybe a couple of pints too. ;)

Brendy,
fantastic weekend, truly enjoyable. It was a pleasure playing, meeting and enjoying everyones company on the range, golf course, clubhouse and the rusty nail.
I hope everyone got home safely, and look forward to meeting you all again somewere.
I hope you all play some great golf over the summer months, and travel safely on your golfing travels.

Glashedy 2nd hole, tight driving hole...as they all were.

Glashedy 14th, 160 yard tricky par 3 shallow green with danger everywhere.

Brendy, did you have to post the pic of the 14th, Im still having nightmares about that hole

Great hole really as was the whole course, cant believe how tight that 2nd fairway looks and i managed to hit it

Just wish i had managed to play the 2 back nines as well as i had played the front nines

Re: GM Irish Craic Classic 2011

Wow! Looks incredible! Wish I'd had the pennies to attend. Would hav meant missing the club championship too which would have been a bonus

Re: GM Irish Craic Classic 2011

I Have to say I enjoyed the par 3's Steve. Right up until the back nine of the old course, I was -1 for the par 3's, ended +1 on them with two bogeys, hit a cracking iron at the 14th Glashedy. My mid and short irons worked very well. My driving was utter pants, 3 wood was working pretty well and didnt miss a fairway from the tee though.

I have to get back if only to prove that my driving isn't always that pee poor. :D

I was 4 over gross on both front nines then the lack of sleep/excess of guinness (dodger, screwback and bear all you fault!) kicked in on sunday I never had the energy to hold a club on the back nine :o
