I usually wear Footjoy gloves but ive noticed this year that the gloves just aren't lasting.

Ive tried both the weathersoft GTX and the sciflex, both seem to last about 4 rounds before dying.

Over stretching,
poor sticking velcro
leather hardining and going slippy

I do only wear the glove for playing the shot, then hand it out of my pocket pro style so that any sweat can dry, but it doesnt matter. Ive now resulted to having 2 gloves in my bag and rotating them between shots but i think this is overkill for the price of an FJ glove.

I used to use St Mellion Tour Series gloves and never had these issues, these would last around 4 months with loads of range time too, but the FJ are lasting 4 rounds and then dead.

Any sugggestions?

I’ve been using an FJ glove this year (dunno which one, has a kind of “hex” design on the leather) and it’s OK, but before that I used a Nike Glove which l used for about 2 years until the leather finally wore out on the palm. What I loved about it was that despite getting worn, it still had the grip I needed.

I have had the same problems with footjoy gloves this year. I have tried the Ping M-Fit and the Srixon cabretta, both of them are as good if not better than the FJ.

how are you finding the wear rate though?

I am quite hard on gloves anyway but the Ping lasted longer than a sciflex. Played 27 hloes with the Srixon glove and it looks brand new.

i have noticed recently alot of sweating in the glove, i was wondering about a bit of talc powder inside it. does anyone else suffer with this.

Hell yes! I use synthetic gloves and the "hot glove" syndrome is a right nuisance. I get this with FJ, Mizuno and Srixon all-weathers.

My idea was to pop down to Sports World (yuk, I know) and buy 3 Srixon gloves and change my glove every few holes. The problem with damp gloves is that even wrapped around a tube of my trolley, they still take ages to dry out.
I DO like the Srixon glove b.t.w.

i use the TM burner glove. its like the FJ sciflex but cheaper, and lasts longer as well.

i used to have this problem too but now i take off my glove between shots and it really helps

The Srixon Cabretta is a nice glove. I get them for about £6 each, which is a good deal.

They last ok, and I get through about 1 a month. Gloves never last longer than this. 20 rounds tops.

thats what im saying , 20 rounds, not 4

4 gloves so far for the year is bloody good going. Taking it off after every shot doesn't help especially at the moment with sweaty hands etc. It's going to stretch and when it gets wet with sweat and then dries it will start to get harder.

I put 3 gloves on my bag and keep rotating them even during the same round especailly when they start to get damp with sweat.

I'll use just about any good quality leather glove. Would avain the Bridgestone ones though, the first one ripped at the cuff part when pulling it on and the 2nd one has come unstitched on the fingers.

Titleist Players Softie is the dogs' for me.

I've never had any problems with the bionic gloves, they're very soft and very hard wearing.
It takes a bit of range time to get used to the extra padding on the joints, but once you have they're very comfortable and have reduced the aches and pains in my hands.

I can also vouch for the Srixon, it is a lot longer lasting than my Mizuno versions

Im very harsh on gloves, go through 1 every 2 rounds (with two range sessions in their too). They all tear in the same place for me, on the palm near the thumb joint.

I had a callaway cabretta one that lasted 10 or so rounds but they have discontinued these gloves now. I now use the Srixon cabretta which fits better than any glove I have used. I would try other gloves but size's are so messed up, I only wear a small glove and all the brands I've tried in shops have a index finger like fricking ET.!

I dont wear a glove at all, unless its wet or very very hot. So, 95% of the time i dont need one.

Dont the Pro's only do it for 1. sponsorship and 2. because they hit SO many balls it makes it worthwhile to look after your hand a bit?

I was a FJ man through and through until I won a TaylorMade r9 glove in a raffle and to say I'm converted would be an understatement. It's the best glove I have tried by a country mile.

Tend to use the very thin cabretta TM gloves (R7 or an R9) for competitions but use FJ Sciflex in social games (usually a colour to match my shirt). I've never had a problem with the velcro. I take it off between shots and leave it out somewhere out of direct sunlight to dry off naturally after.

If you are having problems with holes it would suggest a grip issue or you are using the wrong size to start with. Similarly if it is overly stretching it sounds like it was too small to start with
